OLD BUSINESS
A.Report: Websiteupdate–Lindsay Rice
Rice has updated the original village
ordinances for the Centennial website. She is making a hydrant map for the website.
She will populate w/hydrant pictures. She will imbed map on Home page until at least
Nov 15, 2016 (end of voting). She may then move map to another location. Flower
bulbs sale is on Commission resource page.
B.Report: Educatorsupdate –Patrick Mogge, John Zulaski
District 57 Lincoln Middle School will work w/MP Library to populate library’s display
case.
C.Report: Sponsorshipsupdate–Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz
As of today the Centennial Commission hascommitments/money of $60K. Every one
of MP’s 900+ businesses has received a sponsorship formwith their business license
renewal form. When the form is returned, a Centennial logoclingwill be sent.

D.Report: Fire hydrant painting and voting–Christy Watychowicz
Hydrant updates
are verypopular on Facebook. Miller will work with the MP CERTteam to place
stickers on curbsin front of decorated hydrants to acknowledge hydrant painting
sponsor.
Mogge entered at 3:20 p.m.
Discussion on re-opening hydrant decorating. Public Works willprimeany additional
hydrantsin April/May, 2017.Hydrants will be paintedJune1-30, 2017. There will be
no extendedcontestnor second contest.Additional 2017 painted hydrants will be
addedto website map. Commission will publicize additional painting in DecVillage
newsletter. Painting applications deadlinewill beMarch 3, 2017. Applicantswill be
directed to websitefor information. $50 for each hydrant. Watychowiczmoved.
Murphy seconded. Motion passed.
Watychowicz will notifyMt. Prospect Paintthat hydrant painting has beenextended.
E.Report: Centennial banners update –Jean Murphy, Christy Watychowicz
Banners have been ordered. 29 bannershave been sold. Several entities bought
multiples. Banners will be hung starting Nov 1, 2016and will be put up and taken
down to coordinate with annual and seasonal banners throughout 2017.
F.Report:Merchandise sales update –Sharon Anderson, Jean Murphy
Sales tally so far:1 coin set, 9 onesies, 62 pins, 11posters, and 140 lawn signs. 50
lawn signs left to sell and are available at the Village Hall, Library, MP Park District,
and River Trails Park District.
G.Report: Anniversary weekend plans–Mayor Arlene Juracek, Sharon Anderson,
Jean Murphy
Murphy is working on ascript for the re-enactment. Hot chocolate and cookieswill be
servedby MP Lions Club. Timetable is as follows. Open at 7:00p.m. Re-enactment at
7:30 p.m. Fireworks at 8:15 p.m. Howard Klein will film. Live cast to3other locations
from Historical Society School House.It will not be broadcast live. It will be available
for viewing later. Electronic invitation and paper invitation are being drafted.The
School house is being readied for re-enactment.

Murphy will discuss the cash flow with Finance Director Erb.
B.Volunteers needed for Fall Festival –October 8
Special Events will be present to distribute dinner information.Centennial willsell
lawn signs.

OTHER BUSINESS–member roundtable–additional ideas? Comments?
CERTteam will place historic home signs in lawns tomorrow, October 6, 2016.
Banners on the 3 fire houses are hung.
Discussion about sellingat Prospect High School craft sale.Sunday, Nov. 20. Centennial
will trade fire hydrant for boothspace and rental.
In the Oct 22, 2016 issue of the Daily Herald, there will be anarticle on six historicMP
homes, written by Murphy.Circulation will beeverywhere the Herald is delivered.
Time Capsule suggestions included the following. Cell phones. VW Car pamphlet.Cubs
T Shirt.Grocery Ads. Commission will decide in Summer 2017 what to bury.Will explore
purchasing an authentic time capsule.
Murphywill get sizes and costs for a stained glass centennial logo. Commission was in
agreement to ask Village Board to hang remembrance, possibly in the Village Board
Room.
