Members Present : Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald “Skip” Farley, Janice Farley, Dale Henricksen, Linda Hoefert, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz, John Zulaski. Members Absent : Sharon Anderson, Leo Floros, Patrick Mogge, Ex-officio Members Present :Mayor Arlene A. Juracek and Marianthi Thanopoulos Ex-officio Members Absent : Additional Village staff members present : Sean Dorsey, Mount Prospect Public Works Director; Jim Miller, MP Fire Department III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES July 6, 2016Meeting Minutes Skip Farley moved. Skowron seconded.Motion passed. IV. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD NONE V. OLD BUSINESS A.Report: Website/online auctionsupdate–Lindsay Rice Murphy reported on behalf of Rice. Rice has updated website regularly. Murphy has asked Rice to determine how “on line auction”can take place. High School District 214 uses an on line process for their auction. Murphy will ask Mogge to send Rice the 214contact. MP Library will display posters. B.Report: Sponsorshipsupdate–Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz The budgetary goal is $80K. Currently the team has reached$41.5K. MP resident Tom Munz is part of the Sponsorship team. Suggestion was made to ask Munz to attend September meeting. It was reiterated that sponsorshiplogos must be submittedin jpg and vector for the sponsorship banner manufacturer to use. C.Report: Centennial logo on watertower –Sean Dorsey Logo was affixed in July. Murphy complimented Dorsey for metal entrance way signs. Banners will be hung on railroad fence after October2016fest. D.Report: Fire hydrant painting update –Christy Watychowicz 65 hydrants will be painted in September. Dorsey has sandblasted and primed the hydrants that will be painted.The budget was 100hydrants. Markers will be erectedOct 1 thru Nov 15, 2016by Commission. Discussed sponsorship logo decalslocated on curbrather than wooden sticks.Watychowicz will check w/Novak and Parkeras tocurb location. Miller will obtain decal pricingand detailsand will work w/Dorsey. Notice will be in theFall Village newsletter and press release. E.Report: French Market pop up store? –Mayor Arlene Juracek The Market will be on Sunday, September 18, 2016. Centennial Commission will be allocateda 10’ X 10’space and table. Dorsey will provide a tent. Musicandgames. Anderson will coordinate. F.Report: Chamber book insert –Jean Murphy, Lindsay Rice Murphy has written two of the nine scheduled pages and is on target for publication date. MP Historical Society interns have been researching and obtaining pictures for insert G.Report: Time capsule unearthingand library opening–Mayor Arlene Juracek, John Zulaski It was a very hot day and there was some difficulty unearthing. The container was displayedunopenedat the July Downtown Block Party. It was opened at MP Libraryunder archival conditions. The artifacts will be displayed at the MP Library in September 2016. There will be a long termdisplay at the MP Historical Society. H.Report: Historic homes –Torrens searches –Jean Murphy Murphy researched Torrens on three Fridays in July. She drafted aletter to send to owners telling them thatsigns will be placed in historic home lawnsby MP CERT team. I.Report: Outreach to Interfaith Council –letter about bells, services, windows and histories –Jean Murphy Murphy sent a letter to faith leaders withrequests: 1) to ring bells the night of December 31, 2016; 2) to write narrative of stain glass windowsand submit to Centennial for website inclusion; 3) to supplyphotos of th windowsfor website;and 4) to designate one 2017 service to celebrate 100 anniversary. J.Report: Embracing our Differencesevents–John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci MP Library is pursuing opera solos. Schools will be given alist of Shining Stars (hometown heroes), curriculum, MP history,updated calendar and list of contact information for student display sites.Students will be asked to addressvillage problems (Village Board to identifyproblems)and submit solutions.Village is working on a restaurant mapthat will include ethnicity (if germane to menu). VI. NEWBUSINESS A.Remember to notify MPTV about any potential activities that can be filmed for Public Must remember to keep Howard Kleinstein, MP Television Services, in loop of centennial activities. B.Prospect High School students need a Centennial-related project Stuffgoody bags for Oktoberfest. Students to conceive and film a video to be archived in the 100 year time capsule. Dawn Collins, MP Chamber of Commerce Director, will be asked to communicate w/Prospect HS.Will ask Village Board to airvideoat Meeting. VII. OTHER BUSINESS–member roundtable–additional ideas? Comments? Merchandise Sales –Sharon Anderson -July 23,2016Downtown Block Party: Sold 3 pins ($15); 3 onesies ($60). -August 2, 2016National NightOut at MPLions Park: Sold 4 pins ($20); 1 onesie ($20). -Yard signs: YTD 18 signs ($270). Does not include Park Districts’ sales. -August 14 and October 16, 2016there will be a Centennial tableat MP Farmers’ Market next to MP Historical Society Table. -Lakeside.com catalogue has purple Edison light strings. -Meynfounding familysign is designed. -Randhurst Village activity will be Sept, 2017. -Discussion of signature quilt.
