The meeting of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of the Village of Mount Prospect was

heldon Thursday, January 15th in 3Floor Executive Conference Room in the Village Hall, 50 South
Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois.
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Skip Robertson called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Commissioners John Healy, Norm
Kurtz,Tom Lowe, Dan Novak, Jim Peterson and David Roe were present. Also present were Mike
Cassady,David Strahl, Acting Village Manager,Bill Cooney, Director of Community Development, and
Nellie Beckner, Long Range Planner.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes ofthe June 18,2015 meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS
Development Update
Mr. Cooney provided a brief update on various developments throughout the Village. Chairman
Robertson inquired about the status of the Rand Road paving project. He stated that there was
significant flooding at the intersection at Euclid and at Kensington Roads. In addition, the right turn lane
onto Business Center Drive was in poor condition. Mr. Cooney stated that he would follow up with the
Public Works Department to make sure that they were aware of these issues.

NEW BUSINESS
Kensington Business Center Update
Mr. Cooney stated that he was setting up retention visits in the KBC starting next week and going
throughOctober. He indicated that he would send out the dates and times to the EDC members and
request 1 or 2 volunteers for each visit. Staff would cover any visits that the EDC couldn’t make. He
said the visits would include meetings with commercial brokersrepresenting vacant properties to gain
insight from them on challenges they face filling spaces.
Annual EDC Business Breakfast

Mr. Cooney stated that the annual EDC breakfast would be held on October 15at the Midori Banquet
Hall at Old Orchard CountryClub. The group discussed the format and the inclusion of the business
awards this year.

Mr. Cooney asked that the EDC members complete their review and submit their votes for the business

awards by September 18.
