B. FIRE DEPARTMENT SWEARING IN CEREMONY
Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant hires

new probationary Firefighter/ paramedics.

motion. There will be no separate discussion of those items unless a Board member, or resident from the
audience, so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered
in its normal sequence on the agenda.

XI. NEW BUSINESS
PUBLIC HEARING
This public hearing called pursuant to proper legal notice having been published in the Daily Herald on
December 14, 2015, for the purpose of considering and hearing testimony in regard to a proposed
annexation agreement relative to the annexation to the Village of Mount Prospect of a tract of property
comprising approximately two acres.
A. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ANNEXATION AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND THE ILLINOIS STATE TOLLWAY
HIGHWAY AUTHORITY (Exhibit A)
This agreement, requiring 2/3 vote of the Corporate Authorities, authorizes the Village to enter into
an Annexation Agreement with the Illinois State Tollway Highway Authority.
This item and the next relate to annexing a portion of Illinois Tollway property that is adjacent to
Lake Briarwood and Lynn Court Condominiums in order to completely surround the area of the
Lynn Court condominiums. Once this plat of annexation and Intergovernmental Agreement is
recorded the Village will proceed to annex a portion of the Lynn Court Condominiums that is
currently unincorporated. Community Development Director Bill Cooney will be present to answer
any questions. Staff requests approval of this item and the next in order to complete the
encirclement of the unincorporated property.
B. 1St reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
LOCATED ALONG THE ILLINOIS STATE TOLL HIGHWAY(I-90) TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS (Exhibit B)
This ordinance, all pursuant to the provisions of 65 ILCS 5/7-1-8, authorizes the Village of Mount
Prospect to annex territory located along the Illinois State Toll Highway.
