Event wrap up…Was it worth it?
The Wine tasting event was lovely. More personal and engaging than our previous Store Venues.
The presentation by Vincent Ehret was wonderful. He shared a great deal of information on French
wine and where the grapes were grown and some history on French wine.
Our guests seemed to enjoy the presentation on wine and on the store. The attendees socialized and
admired and purchased store items. The event began at 6 and was scheduled to 8 pm. We began set up
at 5pm, Vincent arrived at 5:15 with the wine. We had ice and a cooler. We also displayed wine in large
buckets provided by Gary and Paula Randant. Wine glasses could hold a 3 oz. pour. The wines were
numbered one to four from lightest to heaviest wine. We planned enough wine for 80 to 100. Our
largest group in the past was 88. All the wines were wonderful. The Wildbird Shack staff provided table
cloths and a sign in table. We collected the short end of the ticket with the person’s name for a door
prize drawing. The Fine Vines provided 2 bottles of wine for the drawing. Linda Korn and Tammie Ray
won the door prizes. Attendees were offered the opportunity to order any of the wines for future
delivery.
Public Works provided us with a microphone, they set it up and picked it up at 8pm.
A one day liquor license was applied for and granted by the Village of Mount Prospect. Attendees and
Alyse, Paula, Vincent, Cindy, Randall and Judy and Paula and Gary completed cleanup and left by 8:45
pm.
Recommendations:
I recommend we continue the event at least once per year.
