I. CALL TO ORDER
Murphy called meeting to order at 3:04 pm.
II. ROLL CALL
Members present: Sharon Anderson, Alexander Floros,
Linda Hoefert, Patrick Mogge, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, and Christy Watychowicz
Members absent: John Zulaski

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
July 1, 2015 Meeting Minutes Moved by Skip Farley. Seconded by Anderson. Motion passed.

OLD BUSINESS
A. Report: Progress on website Lindsay Rice
All the pictures for
to Ravenswood, the website contractor and designer. Views of both the
earlier and later times have been identified. All historical figures photos have been submitted. The 15
original Village Ordinances will be on the History page. The Home page needs the mayor
Historical photos will be rotated. Photos can be added any time via Rice. The Historical Society will
n History. A soft website launch is
targeted for Oct. 1, 2015. A hard launch is planned for Jan. 2016 (TBD). The Village Website will have
forms for event submission designed by Rice. Contact information will be at bottom of website. Rice
needs hydrant decorating information for website. Rice needs sponsorship information. The website will
list commission members names, chair designations, commission email, and chairs emails.
B. Report: Sponsorships Skip Farley, Leo Floros, and Christy Watychowicz
Mayor Juracek has
drafted a letter to introduce sponsorship members to potential donors. Skip Farley has asked the Village
Finance Department for a list of all businesses.
C. Report: Publication of Centennial magazine/book Leo Floros, Skip Farley
The Daily Herald
submitted a final proposal of $7,002.50 for publishing 20K twelve page centennial booklets. The booklets
will be included in the Fall 2016 Chamber of Commerce Annual Guide. The booklets will be part of the
sponsorship schedule. The Chamber Guide will use 10.5K copies. There will be 9.5K booklets for other
means of distribution.
D. Report: Musical extravaganza at Celestial Celebration Leo Floros
An August Meeting will be
rescheduled for late September, 2015. Members of both the Special Events and the Centennial
Commission will meet. Date and venue TBD.
E. Report: Progress on plan for approaching area schools John Zulaski, Patrick Mogge
Letters will
be mailed after Labor Day, 2015 to all schools in Mt. Prospect to ask schools to engage in centennial
activity. An all Village meeting (including schools) will be held in early Feb 2016 to share the activities
that organizations have planned &/or named for the anniversary. Participants will be told about the app
for Calendar Events. Participants will be told that their Events can be pushed via the app.
F. Report: Silver coin sales Mayor Arlene A. Juracek
Mayor Juracek ordered boxes to house coins and
thth
ornaments. Six boxes containing a 50th year anniversary coin, a 75 anniversary coin, and a 100
thth
anniversary ornament will be auctioned via the Historical Society. 56 boxes containing a 75 coin & 100
ornament will be available for $75 via the Historical Society. The box is the anniversary purple. A
description of the coins and ornaments will be contained inside the box lid cover.
G. Report: Permanent memorial Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, Jean Murphy
Message boards to highlight
founding families are being designed. Founding family representatives will be given review rights of text
and pictures within the available space. Dedication of Centennial Green will take place on Feb 3, 2017.
Founding family names will appear on bronze plaques on Village Hall. Public Works is researching cost.
H. Report: Diversity event John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci
Bertolucci met w/MP Chamber of Commerce
to discuss event. Block Party is a great opportunity. Currently the block party runs half day on Friday and
all day on Saturday. Suggestion is that the current Friday food court have an international theme,
complete wi
illage signage would highlight food. Tablecloths
might indicate countries. Suggestion also made to make tables available for organizations
2016 would be a trial year. Vendors bring their own tents. Bertolucci will meet again with Chamber.
I. Report: Re-enactment ceremony and evening Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, Sharon Anderson

will be able to simulcast program to other locations: Village 1 floor meeting room, Village 3 floor
meeting room, Library meeting room, and meeting room. Ceremony will not be broadcast live
on MPTV. It will be recorded for later airing. Capacity needs to be determined for each of 4 rooms.
Donors will be included in invitees.
J. Report: Historical structure signs Jean Murphy, Janice Farley
Homes and businesses already
known to be 100 years old will be contacted to display a sign. There are roughly 35 such structures that
existed on or before 1917. The Commission will use the Centennial website to engage residents in
determining if other structures are 100 years old. Murphy will approach MP Picket Fence Realty to
sponsor the 100 year old building signs.
K. Report: Commemorative posters Jean Murphy
Three choices were made for posters. Posters cost
$4 per to print. No minimum order number. No limit on reorder number. Sales proposed at $20 each. 3
for $50. Historical Society will sell on their website. A poster will be sold in a cardboard tube. Murphy will
explore a framing promotion w/local framing store w/coupon.

-Murphy will look into political type lawn sign for sale to CELEBRATE anniversary. Will look for site to handle
sales. ame on website if resident is agreeable.

-interfaith service. Mayor Juracek will attend Inter Faith Council meeting to ask about a
Memorial setting.
