A. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE
This Ordinance increases the number of Class "R" liquor licenses
to include House of Szechwan, 10 North Main Street. The owner
chose not to keep the existing liquor license when she purchased
the business in October, 1992, however, customers are now asking
for an alcoholic beverage to be served with their dinner, therefore a
Class "R" license is being requested. (Exhibit A)

A. 2ncl reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE
This Ordinance establishes specific language relative to the sale
and/or consumption of alcoholic beverages to minors and penalties
for providing alcoholic beverages to minors. (Exhibit B)
B. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING.CHAPTER 18
(TRAFFIC CODE) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
This Ordinance amends Article VI to prohibit parking in
specific areas in the downtown area. The Safety. Commission
recommended approving these amendments. (Exhibit C)
X. NEW BUSINESS
A. ZBA.31-SU-93 and ZBA 32-V-93, 1710 Estates Drive
The Petitioner is requesting a Special Use to allow a garage
designed to ~ouse more than 2 Vehicles and a variation to
allow a driveway with a maximum width of 31 feet, instead of
21 feet. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended
granting this request by a vote of 7-0.
B. ZBA 33-V-93, 717 N. Forest Avenue
The Petitioner is requesting a variation to allow a driveway with a
width of 28 feet, instead of 21 feet. The Zoning Board of Appeals
recommended granting this request by a vote of 7-0.
C. ZBA 35-SU-93, 400 East Gregory Street (Christian Life Church & College)
The Petitioner is requesting an amendment to the existing Planned
Unit Development granted to the church property to allow a two-phase
development, the first phase would allow for a chapel with a seating
capacity of 532. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended granting
this request by a vote of 7-0.
D. ZBA 36-V-93, 716 See Gwun
The Petitioner is requesting a variation to allow a front yard setback
of 17.72 feet, rather than the required 30 feet and a variation to allow
a side yard setback of 5.47 feet rather than the required 7.5 feet.
The Zoning Board'of Appeals recommended granting this request by
a vote of 5-2.
E. ZBA 38-V-93, 402 South Busse Road
The Petitioner is requesting a variation to allow a driveway width of
32 feet, instead of 21 feet, to permit a parking pad/turn around apron.
The Zoning Board of Appeals recommende¢ granting this request by
a vote of 7-0.
F. A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PERMISSION TO CLOSE A PORTION
OF A STATE ROADWAY IN ORDER TO CONDUCT A PARADE
This is the annual request to close a portion of Central Road in order
'to conduct the July 4th parade. (Exhibit D)
G. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO A DETERMINATION
OF THE PREVAILING WAGE RATES
As required by the State, this Ordinance adopts the official wage
rates for outside contractors doing public works projects for the
Village. (Exhibit E)
H. ESTATES ON MARCELLA PLAT OF SUBDIVISION
1. The Petitioner is requesting a modification from the Development
Code (Chapter 16) to allow the width of the new roadway width to
taper from 67.11 feet to 45 feet. The Plan Commission
recommended granting this request by a vote of 6-0.
2. The Petitioner is proposing a 4 lot subdivision in order
to construct 4 single family homes. The Plan Commission
recommended approving this subdivision by a vote of 6-0.
I. STERGIOS PLAT OF SUBDIVISION
1. The Petitioner is requesting modifications from the Development
Code (Chapter 16).to:
a. allow a 10t depth Of 88 feet;
b. allow a right-of-way width of 45 feet
c. allow a sidewalk width of 4 feet
d. allow installation of curb and gutter and paved street on the
.east side of Marcella; and
e. allow~ parkway improvements and Street lights after the
construction of all' proposed buildings is completed.
The Plan Commission. recommended granting items a, b, and c
by a vote of 6-0 arid deny items d and e by a vote of 0-6.
2. The Petitioner is proposing a 4 lot subdivision in order
to construct 4 single fam~y homes. The Plan Commission
recommended granting this request by a vote of 5-1.

BETWEEN THE ILLINOIS. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT FOR MAINTENANCE OF
SPECIFIED STATE ROADWAYS Exhibit F)

A. Bid results:
1. Two 35,000 lb..GVWR truck cabs and chassis
2. Pavement marking
3. Repair outlets and 'inlets on retention ponds in Kensington
Center for Business
4.Cleaning of catch basins and inlets
5.Fire Sprinkling System for Senior Citizen Center

B. Amend contract with Szabo Paving and Construction to include
additional work performed in conjunction with the installation of a
relief storm sewer from Clearwater Park'to the drainage ditch
located within the Mount Prospect Park Distdct Golf Course.
C.. .Amend contract for the Hatlen Heights sanitary sewer project as
well as the field engineering contract with Rust Environmental Inc.
D. . Proposal to bury utility lines in the rear of the new Police and
Fire Headquarters Building.
E. Request to waive bidding procedure and authorize the purchase
of computer network equipment for the Police Department in order
to- remain compatible with the new generation of PIMS (Police
Information Management System).
