German Subcommittee
May 4, 2015
MINUTES
Meeting Location: Mount Prospect Public Library, Room 130
10 S Emerson St, Mount Prospect, IL 60056
I.Call to Order:by Chairman SkipFarley at 5:45pm.
II.Roll Call: Skip Farley,George Busse, John Eilering,Paula Randant,and Mayor
Arlene Juracekwere in attendance. Georgia Mitchell wasabsent.
III.Approval ofMinutes: Minutes of the March 30, 2015meeting were approved on
a motion by John Eilering and a second by Paula Randant.
IV.Citizens to be heard: None
V.Old Business:
A.Mayor Juracek will write letters to the following three mayors of the cities we
are interested in twinning with:
1)Mr. Ulrich Madge, Mayor
Raum Eingang A, Zimmer 17
Am Ochsenmarkt
21335 Luneburg
2)Ms. Cilvia Nieber, Mayor
Hansestadt Stade
HokerstraBe 2
21682 Stade
3)Mr. Hans-Joachim Grote, Mayor
Rathaus Norderstedt
Rathausallee 50
D-22846 Norderstedt
Each letter will include a package prepared by our Economic Development
Department. These packageswill be sent to TaylorWoodruff, Membership
Manager of Sister Cities International in Washington, DC. He will in turn
send the information to the appropriate USConsulate in Germany who will
assist us in delivering the letter to the appropriate contact with the city for
evaluation.
VI.New Business:
Mayor Juracek will sendout the aforementioned packetsthis week.
VII.Other Business:
The Sister City Ordinanceis being reviewed by Lisa Angelland corporate legal
counsel.
VIII.Next Meeting: June 1, 2015, 5:45 P.M., Mount Prospect Public Library, Room
130.
IX.Meeting adjourned by Chairman Farley at 5:55 pm.
