BarbieandSteveVanArsdale aredelightedtoseethatconstructionhasbegunonthecornerofCentraland RandRd.StevecommentedonthemoviesonthegreenonWednesdayandstatedhesawalotofhappykidsat theevent. CarolTortorello hadnothingtoreport. ChristinaRogers hadaquestionabouttreereplacementforparkwaytreeswhichwereremoved.MayorJuracek indicatedthattheprogramisongoingandthatafreetreeisavailable.Residentscanpayextraforadifferent speciesoftree.TrusteePolitaddedthatresidentscanplanttheirowntreeiftheyobtainapermit.General discussionregardingtheschedulefortreeplantingfollowed. JimChylik inquiredastowhathappensifresidentsķƚƓƷcallintohavetheirwatermeterexchanged.Mayor JuracekindicatedthattheVillagewoulddofollowupwithresidentstoscheduletheexchange.Hesuggested thatmailingssentbytheVillagebeaddressedtotheresidentbynameratherthanͻhĭĭǒƦğƓƷͼinordertoavoid residentsdiscardingimportantnoticessentbytheVillage.Mr.Chylikhadquestionsregardingonlinepayment forhiswaterbillandMayorJuracekindicatedthatVillagestaffwouldfollowupwithhimregardinghis questions. JerryBoldt hadnothingtoreport. MikeCuddy expressedconcernregardingtheproposedWalgreensonthecornerofGolfandElmhurst.He statedthatthedeveloperisgoingdoortodoorspeakingwithresidentsfromtheneighborhood.Further discussiontookplaceregardingtheprotectivecovenantandMayorJuracekencouragedhimtocontinueto engageresidentsofthesubdivisionregardingthisissue.TrusteePolitaddedthattheBoardhastovoteonthis issueevenifthedevelopergets51%oftheresidentstoagree.Mr.Cuddyinquiredastothestatusofthe propertyat83andCentral.MayorJuracekadvisedthatnobodyisclaimingownershipandacourtorderfor demolitionhasbeenissued.Generaldiscussionfollowed. TomManion thankedtheMayorandTrusteesforallthegoodworktheydoonbehalfofthecommunityand statedthatheappreciatesCoffeewithCouncil.TrusteePolitencouragedresidentstoutilizeemailasanother meanstohavetheirquestionsansweredbytheBoard. LindaandDaveBrady expressedconcernsabouttheproposedWalgreensatGolfandElmhurstandstressedthe importanceofkeepingtheneighborhoodeducatedabouttheseconcerns.MayorJuracekindicatedthatthe rezoningrequestswouldhavetogobeforethePlanningandZoningcommission.TrusteeRogerssuggested invitingthedevelopertoaCoffeewithCouncilmeeting.Lindainquiredastohowtoresearchtheoriginalowner ofthebuildingandMayorJuraceksuggestedcheckingwiththecounty. LouisBowers hadnothingtoreport. WilliamMiller statedheisopposedtotherequestbySchoolDistrict57toputinanaccessroadatWestbrook School.Hehassafetyconcernsanddoesnotwanttoseetheparklikesettingdestroyed.Mr.Millerstatedthat hefeelsthatwhatDistrict57isdoingisinviolationofVillagecodes.HestatedthatheattendedthePlanning andZoningmeetingandvoicedhisconcerns.Mr.Millerinquiredastowhowouldmowthelawnandwho wouldbeliableforinjury.TrusteePolitindicatedthatthepropertyisownedbyDistrict57.MayorJuracek statedthatthecasethatwillbepresentedtotheBoardisarezoningcaseandthatsomeoftheconcernshehas shouldberaisedduringthedevelopmentprocess.Generaldiscussionfollowed. Suzanneh.ƚǤƌĻ statedthatsheisalsoopposedtotheaccessroadatWestbrookSchoolandhasthesame concernsasMr.Miller.Shebelievesthattheyhavealreadybeguntheproject.Suzannealsoinquiredasto whetheradrivercanenterintothecrossingatBusseandLonnquistiftherearenopedestriansinthe intersectionbutthebeaconisstillflashing. MaxRomanowicz hadnothingtoreport. CraigIverson inquiredastowhetherthewalkwayinMelasParkwouldbeabridge.MayorJuracekindicated thatitwouldbeasurfacecrossing.Discussionregardingasafepassageislandtookplace. MaryWinkler expressedconcernregardingthelackofovernightparkinginthedowntownarea.Shestatedthat sellinghercondominiumonBusseandEmersonhasbeendifficultbecauseofthelackofparkingavailable. MayorJuracekindicatedthatthiswouldbeagoodtopicforafutureCommitteeoftheWholemeeting. PatandKathyMoran statedthatthetwohourparkinglimitinthedowntownareaisnotconducivetokeeping peopledowntownandaskediftheVillagecouldconsiderchangingsomeoftheparkingspacestothreeorfour hourlimits.MayorJuracekstatedthattheconcernisthatcommuterswilltaketheseparkingspots.Further discussiontookplaceregardingalternateparkingoptionsinthedowntownarea.TheaƚƩğƓƭalsoraised concernregardingsafetyandpollutionissuesduetoincreasedairtrafficoverMountProspect.MayorJuracek discussedherinvolvementwiththehIğƩĻNoiseCompatibilityCommissionandhereffortstoengage surroundingmunicipalitiesindiscussionsregardingtheincreasedairtrafficinthearea. DorothyandEdwardProstko statedtheyareopposedtotheWalgreensstoregoinginatGolfandElmhurst. Theyraisedconcernaboutthelackofgroceryshoppingavailableinthedowntownareaforthosethatwouldlike groceryshoppingwithinwalkingdistanceoftheirresidence.MayorJuracekacknowledgedtheirconcernand statedthatthesmallfootprintwasnotappealingtomostgrocerystores.Mr.Prostkoinquiredastowhether ContinentalBakerywasforsale.Furtherdiscussiontookplaceregardingtheforsalesignthathadbeenposted temporarily. GabeArias statedthatheiscurrentlyanArlingtonHeightsresidentandisconsideringmovingtoMount Prospect.HeinquiredaboutdowntowndevelopmentandwhetherGovernorwğǒƓĻƩƭproposalswouldhavean impactondevelopment.MayorJuracekindicatedthatdowntowndevelopmentwouldnotbeimpactedbygrant suspensionsandprovidedMr.Ariaswithsomehighlightsofupcomingdevelopmentinthedowntownarea. TrusteeSaccotelliandTrusteeRogersspokeaboutthevariousfamilyfriendlyactivitiesthattheVillageholds throughouttheyear. DavidSchein thankedPublicWorksfortakingcareofanissuewithatreethatwasobstructingviewandcausing asafetyissueinsuchatimelymanner.Mr.ScheinindicatedthathewillbewritingtheDailyHeraldregarding thearticlewrittenaboutturtlesashedisagreeswiththeadvicegiveninthearticle.
