A PROCLAMATION ACKNOWLEDGING THE
DUI ENFORCEMENT EFFORTS OF OFFICER JOSEPH ZIOLKOWSKI
WHEREAS,JOSEPH ZIOLKOWSKI
swore to his oath of office as a Police Officer with
the Mount Prospect Police Department on October 6, 1989; and
WHEREAS,
in 2013, impaired motorists killed 10,076 people and injured 290,000 people
on our nation’s roadways; and
WHEREAS,
police officers in Illinois arrested 34,611 impaired motorists throughout the
State in 2013; and
WHEREAS,
a primary objective of the Mount Prospect Police Department is to ensure safe
travel within Mount Prospect through the identification and arrest of impaired motorists; and
WHEREAS, JOSEPH ZIOLKOWSKI
continues as a dedicated public servant and law
enforcement officer focused on the identification and arrest of intoxicated motorists in his

27 year as a Police Officer; and
WHEREAS, JOSEPH
in an effort to continually improve his abilities as a police officer,
ZIOLKOWSKI
has engaged in numerous law enforcement continuing education courses to
further his success as a police officer including courses on DUI enforcement; and
WHEREAS,
to further his ability to successfully remove intoxicated motorists from the

roadway, completed training and State of Illinois licensing as a
Certified Breath Test Operator; and
WHEREASJOSEPH ZIOLKOWSKI
, on May 13, 2015, conducted a traffic stop
whereon he determined the motorist to be impaired by the effects of an alcoholic beverage

and effected his 300 arrest of an impaired motorist.
NOW THEREFORE, I
, Arlene A. Juracek, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do

hereby congratulate , acknowledging his dedication to removing

impaired motorist from our Village roadways and on the occasion of his 300 arrest of an
impaired motorist, leading to safer roadways for all Mount Prospect residents and visitors to
our community.
