C. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE
This Ordinance deletes the Class "R" liquor license recently
issued to Martinelli's Restaurant, 1726 West Golf Road, and
creates a Class "S" liquor license for the same establishment:
The owner of this establishment feels a Class "S" license
will be more appropriate for his business. (Exhibit B)

1st reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 504 SOUTH MAIN STREET
This Ordinance grants a variation to allow a room addition
to be within 6.83 feet of an accessory structure, rather than the
required 10 feet. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended
granting this request by a vote of 7-0. (Exhibit C)
B. ZBA 58~V~93, 423 South Pine Street
1st reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A VARIATION FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 423 SOUTH PINE STREET
This Ordinance grants a variation to allow a six foot service
walk to encroach into the side yard. The Zoning Board of Appeals
recommended granting this request by a vote of 6-1. (Exhibit D)
C. ZBA'60-SU-93, Circuit City, Randhurst Shopping Center
1st reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A SPECIAL USE
FOR "CIRCUIT CITY" LOCATED WITHIN THE RANDHURST
SHOPPING CENTER, 999 NORTH ELMHURST ROAD
This Ordinance grants a Special Use to allow a satellite
antenna. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended granting
this request by a vote of 7-0. (Exhibit E)
X. NEW BUSINESS
A. PUBLIC HEARING
This Public Hearing, celled pursuant to proper legal notice having
been published in the Mount Prospect Herald on August 7, 1993,
is for the purpose of considering an amendment to the Franchise
Agreement with Telenois, Inc. to provide Cable Television services
in the Village.
B. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT
· TO THE FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH TELENOIS, INC.
This Resolution authorizes an amendment to the Franchise Agreement
with Telenois, Inc. to operate in the Village. (Exhibit F)
C. Recommendation of Safety Commission:
1. Request of residents to install STOP signs for both north
and southbound traffic on the following streets at the
intersection with Lincoln Street: Douglas Avenue, Leonard
Lane and Craig Court. The Safety Commission recommended
installing these STOP signs by a vote of 8-0.
2. Request of residents to reduce the speed limit within the
Brentwood Subdivision from 30 MPH to 25 MPH. The
Safety Commission recommended granting this request
by a vote of 8-0.
3. Request of residents to establish traffic regulations around
Lions Park Elementary School:
a. No Standing, StOpping or Parking on school days
between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on Council Trail
between Elm and School Streets.
b. Establish a school bus/unloading zone on the north
side of Council Trail
c. Establish "Do Not Enter - School Days" 8:45 AM to
9:15 AM and 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM for northbound
traffic on School Street at Council Trail.
· ' The Safety Commission recommended these amendments
by a vote of 8-0.
Xl. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
A. Bid Results:
1. a. Install underground utilities behind new Police & Fire
Headquarters Building
b. Waive bidding procedure in order to contract with
Commonwealth Edison to bury the electric lines
2. Water Meter Installation/Replacement and Testing Contract
3. Purchase and planting of shade trees for parkways
4. 1993 Village Street Reconstruction Program
B. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE
This Ordinance authorizes the sale of specified vehicles in
conjunction with the Northwest Municipal Conference Auction,
which will be held at the Mount Prospect Public Works Facility. (Exhibit G)
C. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE
This Ordinance authorizes the sale to the highest bidder the
furniture and office equipment no longer useful to the Village
' as 'at lot'. (Exhibit H)
