REGULAR MEETING

I.Call to order at 3:00 p.m. by Co-chair Jean Murphy
II.Roll Call
Members present: Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald “Skip” Farley, Janice Farley, Leo Floros,
Linda Hoefert, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz, John Zulaski and Elaine
Hundrieser
Members absent: Sharon Anderson
Ex-officio members present: Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, David Strahl, and Marianthi Thanopoulos
Ex-officio members absent: Mike Janonis
Dave Strahl joined. Juracek announced that Jessica Thunberg had resigned. District 214 has not
announced a replacement yet.
III.Approval of Minutes: September 3, 2014, Adoption moved by Skip Farley. Seconded by Zulaski.
Motion approved.
IV.CITIZENS TO BE HEARD No citizens in attendance
V.OLD BUSINESS
Hoefert & Watychowicz entered meeting at 3:05 p.m.
A.Report to Village Board for budget request by Murphy. Village Board approved $5K upfront and
$100 per month for Ravenswood Events Specialists. Target is website live starting September
2015. Village will draft contract for consultant for web content maintenance.
B.Report: ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS Subcommittee: Thanopoulos reported. Web calendar
will be active. Anderson will be the content approver. Editing responsibility still has to be
determined. Website will have video linkage to VIDEO ON DEMAND and/or You Tube.
Commission has been in discussions with Lindsay Rice, Mount Prospect Historical Society
executive director, about being a part-time contract web content provider. Included in web
content provider’s responsibilities will be linking to VIDEO ON DEMAND and/or You Tube.
C.Zulaski & Thanopoulos will meet with web content provider in Dec. 2014.
D.Oct 1, 2014 meeting. Went well. Gave a heads-up to organizations to incorporate Centennial
year in their own missions and activities. Hydrants will be an agenda item in Jan 2015.
E.Report: Tribune, Herald, & Journal have had articles on Centennial. Murphy has spoken at Mount
Prospect/Arlington Heights Sunrise Rotary meeting.
VI. New Business
A.Fund-raising plans/possibilities. Magazine to appear in Herald in Spring of 2017. Herald has
printed special inserts. Herald handles distribution, copy, and ads for insert. No initial financial
outlay on part of Centennial Committee. Committee will have to provide copy. Magazine ads will
be part of the sponsorships roster. The Sponsorship Team will investigate the Herald Magazine.
The team will suggest to advertisers that they incorporate date of incorporation in copy.

Juracek proposed that the 1975 silver coins that sold initially for $20 be coupled w/a 100
Anniversary item. Suggestion is to sell an ornament w/coin. Suggestion made to look at Central
School Brass ornament to go w/the silver coin. Juracek will continue to pursue ornament
suggestion.
Zulaski left meeting at 4:05 p.m.
B.Can we sell website sponsorships? Thanopoulos believes that we can since it is a Centennial
Website. If it is a Village website, then the answer is no. Thanopoulos will check w/Ravenswood
to get info. Sponsorship Team will include website sponsorships in its roster/hierarchy of ad fees.
VII. OTHER BUSINESS – member roundtable
Floros – would like to see a “grand event.” Perhaps music. Perhaps politician. Park districts might be
involved. Cultural and period music. Randhurst. Dancers could be sponsored. Family picnic w/park
districts. World Fest.
