C. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13
This Ordinance authorizes the creation of a Class "R" liquor
license (all alcohol consumed at dining tables only) for House
of China, a new restaurant located at 1749 W. Algonquin Road. (Exhibit A)

VIII. OLD BUSINESS
A. ZBA 12-V-94, 52 North Albert Street
2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING VARIATIONS FOR
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 52 NORTH ALBERT STREET
This Ordinance grants a variation to increase the lot coverage
from 50% to 57% in order to construct a wood deck and a
variation to allow a rear yard parking setback from 25 feet to
10 feet. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended granting
these requests by a vote of 5-0. (Exhibit B)
B. ZBA 14-CU-95, Stimsonite Corporation, 800 Biermann Court
1st reading of AN ORDINANCE GRANTING A CONDITIONAL
USE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 800 BIERMANN COURT
This Ordinance grants the Conditional Use to Stimsonite
Corporation located at 800 Biermann Court to allow a plastic
processing facility for the existing building and a proposed
60,000 addition. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended
granting this request by a vote of 5-0. (Exhibit C)
IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23 OF
THE VILLAGE CODE PROHIBITING THE SALE OF FIREARMS
IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
There are two Ordinances being presented for consideration,
Exhibit B prohibits the sale of firearms and ammunition in
the Village and Exhibit D-1 prohibits the sale of firearms,
ammunition and BB guns in the Village. (Exhibit D)
B. A RESOLUTION TO DETERMINE THE AMOUNTS OF MONEY
ESTIMATED TO BE NECESSARY TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION
BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT UPON THE TAXABLE
PROPERTY WITHIN THE VILLAGE FOR THE YEAR COMMENCING
MAY 1, 1995 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1995 (Exhibit E)
C. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 1995 BUDGET (Exhibit F)
D. Safety Commission recommendations:
1. Request for STOP sign on Hemlock at Greenwood Drive.
The Safety Commission recommended denying this
request.
2. Request for STOP sign on Can Dota at Evergreen. Safety
Commission recommended reducing the speed limit from
30 MPH to 25 MPH on Can Dota from Busse Avenue
to Lincoln Street.
3. Request to prohibit parking on Prospect Avenue a distance
of 90 feet west and 80 feet east of William Street. The Safety
Commission recommended granting request.
4. Request to revise parking restrictions on Weller Lane
south of Central Road. The Safety Commission
recommended the following:
a. No Stopping, Standing or Parking on west side of
Weller Ln. btw. a point 200 ft to 240 ft. south of Central Rd.
b. No Stopping, Standing or Parking on west side of
Weller Ln. btw. a point 560 ft to 800 ft south of Central Rd.
c. No Parking Any Time on the east and west side of
Weller Ln. the first 200 ft. south of Central Rd.
d. No Parking During School Hours on the west side of
Weller Ln. btw. a point 240 ft and 560 ft south of
Central Rd.
e. No Parking During School Hours on the east side of
Weller Ln btw. Busse Ave. and Cleven Ave.
5. The Safety Commission recommended Article X of
Chapter 5 "Safety Commission" be amended to specify
the meeting date as the 2nd Monday of each month at
7:30 PM; to extend the term of the Chairman and Vice-
Chairman from one year to two years; and to designate
the representative of the Engineering Division as
Secretary of the Safety Commission.
E. ZBA 10-Z-95, Mt, Prospect Park District, 1000 West Central Road
This request to rezone the subject property from i-1 (Light Industrial)
to C-R (Conservation-Recreation) has been withdrawn by the
Petitioner.
