CC Minutes 09/03/2014CENTENNIAL COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING Meeting Location: Meeting Date and Time: Village Hall — Td floor Executive Conference Room September 3, 2014 50 South Emerson Street 3:00 p.m. Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 CALL TO ORDER at 3:02 pm by Co-chair Murphy. II. ROLL CALL Members present: Sharon Anderson, Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald "Skip" Farley, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Linda Hoefert, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz, and John Zulaski. Members absent: Elaine Hundreiser, Jessica Thunberg, Ex -officio members present: Marianthi Thanopoulos Ex -officio members absent: Mike Janonis, Arlene Juracek III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES July 9, 2014 Meeting Minutes Moved by Anderson; seconded by Zulaski. Approved. III. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD NONE IV. OLD BUSINESS A. Report: Communications subcommittee — Zulaski, Thunberg, and Thanopoulos. a. French intern will not occur. Still need content set up for Commission web site. Ravenswood Event provider would cost an estimated $8,000 (hosting is an added expense of $600). Still need an individual to organize content. Collect photos. Reach out for stories. b. 3:17 pm Linda Hoefert arrived. c. Zulaski moved that we ask the MP Village to enter into an agreement with Ravenswood Event Services to begin development on a website for the MP Centennial Commission not to exceed $2500 in 2014. Anderson seconded. Motion passed. B. Logo discussion and final vote - Bertolucci, Thunberg, and Murphy Bertolucci distributed the revised logo based on the commission's comments. Hoefert moved to adopt logo. Second Bertolucci. Motion passed. Two versions were approved: one black & white; one with purple. Logos may be tweaked by graphic designer. Asked Bertolucci to obtain design documents from Harper College student. Bertolucci will check w/village attorney RE copyright of logo. Commission will introduce logo at the village meeting on Wed, Oct. 1, 2014. C. Report: Overview of tentative Commission budget — Murphy and Skowron Murphy led discussion. Murphy and Watychowicz will help Sponsorship Chairs Skip Farley & Floros put together the sponsorship package by March 2015. Only large banners (not small) will be offered. Sponsorship proposal will list points of sale. Janice Farley is working on T shirt sales. Murphy will ask Hundreiser about shrink wrap for Randhurst Village water tower. Murphy will follow up w/village on open expenses. D. Report: 2015 vehicle sticker presentation and vote — Murphy and Anderson Skowron moved to recommend to the Village Board that the sticker as presented be adopted. Anderson seconded. Motion passed. E. Report: Possible outdoor interfaith service — Floros This item will be on the agenda at the Village Informational Centennial Meeting on Oct 1, 2014 at the Village Hall. F. Report: Upcoming Wed, October 1, 2014 meeting for organizations, clubs, etc. —Anderson Anderson presented a list of invitees. Meeting's purpose is to introduce Centennial year and calendar of events to village organizations. Secondly, to ask for organizations' participation. Co-chairs will ask invitees for email addresses at meeting. Commission prefers email contact. V. NEW BUSINESS A. Ideas to suggest to other clubs and organizations for Centennial — bulb planting, etc. Suggested activities: interfaith service, Coordination between groups. Murphy & Floros will review list from Commission's white board. B. Fund-raising plans/possibilities covered under discussion of budget. VI. OTHER BUSINESS — member roundtable — additional ideas? Comments? Every other month meetings will occur until Sept 2015. Then monthly meetings will begin. VII. NEXT MEETING November 5, 2014 — 3:00 p.m. VIII. ADJOURN Skowron moved to adjourn. Skip Farley seconded. Motion passed.
