Within two years, build an electronic communications resource having a solid reputation for

communicating 100 anniversary activities throughout the community.
Goal
The Mount Prospect Centennial Commission seeks to create public awareness and
th
excitement of 100 year anniversary events, inspire community pride and involvement, and
present the history of Mount Prospect.
OBJECTIVES
Specific to the creation of an electronic communications plan.
Seek Centennial Commission approval of the detailed plan & costs by July 2014
Complete proposal for 2015 Village budget by August 2014.
Implement Electronic Communication Plan by Sept 2015
STRATEGIES
What do we need to be successful?
Build on lessons learned from similar Websites, Apps, and social media channels
Leverage existing Village communication resources, where possible
Cultivate relationships and collaborate with like-minded community organizations.
Seek opportunities for funding.
Identify opportunities for enhancing village services
Include a Social Media Plan
ACTION PLANS
- Work to be done to Implement strategies and achieve objectives.
2014
Submit one page development plan for Commission approval by Jan
Propose Web site map, options, timeline, owners and cost by Mar
Establish Fund Raising sub-Committee by May
Present a detailed Electronic Communication Plan to Commission by July
If needed, submit a request for funding to Village Board by Aug
2015
Develop website content by January
Initial Beta site complete by July and Launch by Sept
Future
Redesign to meet future Village needs by 2018.
