II.VILLAGE BOARD STRATEGIC PLANNING-SESSION #2
As part of the 2014 Budget message a suggestion was made to undertake a strategic
planning process with the Village Board as part of a long term vision to define a general
Village mission and direction through more detailed planning. To that end, strategic
planning sessions are planned for January 14 and 28 in place of the Committee of the
Whole meetings. These meetings will be lead by a professional facilitator that will
engage the Village Board to establish a shared vision and mission in which to achieve
the preferred vision. As this development of the strategic vision is defined, staff will work
with the Village Board to create suggested processes to work toward achieving the
mission as part of future decisions. This process has taken several different forms in the
past on a periodic basis and this effort should be comprehensive enough to allow for
future strategic planning to build upon the foundation established through this effort.
Lynn Montei, Montei Associates, will be the facilitator to lead the Village Board in this
strategic planning effort.
