RESOLUTION NO. 27-88
A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
MARVIN S. WEISS
WHEREAS, MARVIN S. WEISS was a resident of the village of
Mount Prospect and active community leader for many years; and
WHEREAS, MARVIN S. WEISS became the first Director of the
River Trails Park District upon its creation in 1966 and
continued to serve in that capacity until his untimely death
on June 29, 1988; and
WHEREAS, a portion of the River Trails Park District is
located within the corporate boundaries of and serves many
residents of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, upon the establishment of the River Trails Park
I District there were no park sites, recreational facilities nor
activities; and
I
WHEREAS, MARVIN S. WEISS was instrumental in the acquisition
and development of eight park sites, establishing playgrounds,
ball diamonds, swimming pool, miniature golf course and range,
and a community center for the River Trails Park District; and
,
I WHEREAS, with complete devotion and involvement MARVIN S.
I WEISS supervised the establishment and growth of the River
I' Trails Park District including the acquisition of land,
I hiring staff as well as the overall operations resulting in
excellent areas for the enjoyment of the residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect acknowledge the many contributions
of MARVIN S. WEISS as Director of River Trails Park District
and active member of the community.
, SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
forward a copy of this Resolution to the President and Board
of the River Trails Park District.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval in the
manner provided by law.

PASSED and APPROVED this 5th day of July, 1988.
