RESOLUTION NO. 7-89
A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE CONTRIBUTIONS
OF MAYOR JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN
WHEREAS, JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN was an active community leader in
the City of Prospect Heights for many years; and
WHEREAS, JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN was actively involved in the
incorporation of Prospect Heights through Prospect Heights
Improvement Association; and
WHEREAS, JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN was an active participant on the
Mc Donald Creek Improvement Committee, the palwaukee Airport
citizens Advisory Committee and Zoning Commission; and
WHEREAS, JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN became Mayor of the City of
Prospect Heights on May 19, 1983 and provided leadership and
devotion to the City of Prospect Heights; and
WHEREAS, JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN, as Mayor of the City of Prospect
Heights, worked for the betterment of Prospect Heights, ever
mindful of the relationship between neighboring communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect do hereby acknowledge the many contributions of
JOHN E. "JACK" GILLIGAN and the many hours of devotion as a
community leader.
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees do hereby
express their sincere sympathy to the family of JOHN E. "JACK"
GILLIGAN as well as to the residents of the City of Prospect
Heights upon his untimely passing.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
