RESOLUTION NO. 39-89
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE NATIONAL POLICY
AGAINST THE ILLEGAL SALE AND USE OF DRUGS
WHEREAS, the use of illegal drugs has reached the crisis stage
throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, the results of illegal drug use has far reaching
effects not only on the users but on their families, the
community and the nation as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the youth of our co1l'l1l'luni ty are our hope for the
future and as such they must be made aware of the fact that
use of illegal drugs is not the way of the future; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect supports any and all
efforts to curtail the use of illegal drugs; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect pledges to continue the
ongoing war against drugs through education and law
enforcement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
village of Mount Prospect and the community as a whole, do
hereby express the support of the Village of Mount Prospect
for the national drug policy and urge the residents of the
Village to become more aware of the problems associated with
illegal drug use and join together in fighting this war on
drugs.
SECTION TWO: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
