ORDINANCE NO.
2944
AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF THE
ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN HENRY STREET AND
PROSPECT AVENUE LOCATED IN THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, Chapter 24, §11-91-1 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes (1977) authorizes the vacating of any
municipal street or alley, or part thereof, by passage of an
ordinance by the corporate authorities of any municipalitYi and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospect find that the public interest
ill be served by vacating the portion of the alley located
in the Village of Mount Prospect hereinafter described;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND
OARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE:
The President and Board of Trustees find
nd determine that it is in the public interest and the interest
f the Village of Mount Prospect that the ~ortion of the alley
ereinafter described be vacated.
SECTION TWO:
The portion of the alley more fully
escribed in Exhibit A attached hereto and shown on the plat
f vacation attached hereto as Exhibit B is hereby vacated.
SECTION THREE:
The Village of Mount Prospect retains
he right to maintain, operate, repair and replace, by itself
r by any licensee, or a holder of a franchise from the Village,
ny poles, wires, pipes, conduits, sewer mains, water mains,
r any other facility or equipment for the maintenance or
peration of any utility now located in the alley or portion
hereof vacated by this Ordinance.

SECTION FOUR:

Upon the passage and approval of
this Ordinance the Village Clerk
is hereby authorized
and directed to file a certified copy of this Ordinance together
with the plat of vacation attached hereto with the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION FIVE:
This Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication
in the manner provided by law.

Between Henry Street And Prospect Avenue
Legal Description
A strip of land being the Easterly 1.0 feet as measured at right
angles to the East line of the West 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of
Section 33, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal
Meridian of the 16.0 foot public alley lying between the Southwesterly
line of Lot 5 and the Northeasterly line of Lot 6 all in Block 4 as
dedicated in Centralwood, being a Subdivision of the following
described land: Beginning at the Southeast corner of the West 1/2 of
the Southeast 1/4 of Section 33, Township 42 North, Range 11 East of
the Third Principal Meridian; thence West along the South line of ,
said Section 33, a distance of 14.82 chains=978.12 feet; thence North
él.long a Hrìè'paralleik to theßél.st )Line Of West 1/2 of the $outheast 1/4
of. said Section 33 to the "SôUtllerrYB.neOfrfgh.tof way 6f the'Chicago
and Northwestern Railway Company; thence Southeasterly along the said
