I- Meeting Call To Order at 5:37 PM, Village Nall, 50 S. Emerson St., 3 rd Floor Executive Conference Room —

II- Minutes Of March 21, 2013, Meeting approved
III - Citizens To Be Heard — Irvana Wilks, Former Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect
IV- Mayor's Comments — deferred
V- Chair's Comments — Dorothy Kucera
- Dorothy, and all attending, welcomed new Commissioner Judy McGinnis.
VI- Treasurer Report - Skip Farley, Former Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect

- Copies of the Treasurer's Report were distributed.
-Judy Thorne reviewed the receipts and the balance as of April 30, 2013
-The Treasurer's Report was approved.
VII. Committee Reaorts
a. Pot Luck Dinner -April 25th —Judy Thorne
The event was well- attended and successful. The raffle generated $650 and donations $30.
Discussion was made on a future silent auction with donations from Sister Cities' sponsors.
It was suggested that the French Consulate be invited to future Commission events.
b. Wine Tasting /World Market - May 23 — Paula Randant
The event is planned to open at 6 p.m. and continue to 9 p.m.
There was a call for volunteers to hand -stamp at the door and to sell raffle tickets.
c. 4th of July Parade — Gary Randant
There was a call for volunteers to walk the parade route, from the Mrs. P's Restaurant to Melas Park.
There are two banners to be carried. No handouts are planned this year.
It was suggested to invite middle school French Club members to walk in the parade.
d. Family French Festival - July 10th - Mary Ann Sibrava
The event is planned and scheduled. Refreshments will be served.
The Library will be publicizing the event.
The Book Crossing exchange is underway. Comments will be exchanged on Facebook.
e. French Farmers' Market - Sept. 15
Vendors are being contacted to participate.
Barbara VanArsdale will coordinate the event for the Sister Cities Commission.
Marianthi Thanopoulos will coordinate Village activities, and will contact Fred at the Lions Club about
fees.

VIII. 2013 Sevres Visit to Mount Prospect — Paula Randant - sub - committee summary
-An updated schedule of events was distributed and discussed.
-It was suggested that the French Consulate might accept an invitation to attend some of the events.
Paula Randant offered to contact the Consulate and determine the interest.
-John Korn suggested the Sevres visitors might be interested to attend a Village Board Meeting. A meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, September 24, during the visit. It was generally agreed that the offer should be made.
IX. Open Discussion
- Dorothy Kucera suggested that the attendees consider moving or cancelling the September Commission
meeting.
After general discussion, it was approved to cancel the September meeting of the Sister Cities Commission.
X. Adjournment
-The Commission meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
-The next Commission meeting is scheduled for July 18, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
