ORDINANCE NO. 3062
AN ORDINANCE ~4ENDING CHAPTER 4,
ARTICLES III AND I~ OF THE VILLAGE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT MUNICIPAL CODE
~HEREAS, Section 4.302.C of Article III of Chapter 4 of the
Municipal Code of the Village of Mount Prospect provides that th
Department of Community Development shall include the office of
Village Engineer; and
WHEREAS, Article IV of C~apter 4 of the Municipal Code of the
Village of Mount Prospect ~reates and otherwise pertains to the
~epartment of Public Works; and
I~HEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
llMount Prospect aeem it advisable to amend Articles III and IV of
tlChap~er 4 of the Municipal Code of the Village of Mount Prospect
llto include the office of Village Engineer within the Department
-of Public WorkS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE tT ORDAINED by- the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois
as follows:
SECTION ONE: Article Iii of Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code of
%he Village of Mount Prospect be, and the same is hereby, amende~
by deleting therefrom Section 4.302.C.
iSECT!ON TWO: Article IV of Chapter 4 of the Municipal Code~of
the Village of Mount Prospect be, and the same is hereby, amende~
by deleting therefrom the present Section 4.404 and renumbering
the present Section 4.404 as Section 4.405, and by adding, in it:
proper numerical order a new Section 4.404 which shall read as
follows:

Sec. 4.404. Village Engineer. The Department of
Public Works shall include the office of Village
Engineer.
The Village Engineer shall have a degree in civil
engineering from an accredited college or university
have practical experience in engineering and shall
be licensed as a professional engineer pursuant
to the applicable Statutes of the State of Illinois.
The Village Engineer will give technical advice
and furnish professional engineering services to
the Village in connection with planning, zoning
and' the execution and construction of public works
and improvements.
1. The work of the Village Engineer shall
be performed under the direction of the Director
of Public Works.
2. The Village Engineer shall also perform
such other duties as may be required'of him from
time to time by the DireCtor of Public Works.

~ECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and
~ffect and after its passage.and approval in the manner provided
~y law.
