Minutes: November 15, 2012

Not Attending: Paul Sells, Mary Ann Sibrava, John Sibrava, Maura El Metennam, Lorrie Huber,
Irvana Wilks, Janice Farlev,
The meeting Nvas called to order by Dorothy at 5:40 PM.
IL The minutes of the previous meeting Nvere read and approved.
III. Citizens to be heard. No one requested to be heard.
IV. Treasurer's Report: Skip Farley revieNved the report and it Nvas approved by members and is
attached to the minutes.
V. Mayor's Remarks: the Mavor did not attend the meeting
VI. Chairs Report: Dorothv discussed the success of the French Market and the Wine
Tasting.
The French visit in 2013 Nvas discussed. We do not have a definitive date vet. Skip had
spoken to Francoise and they Nvere also looking for a date confirmation. Dorothv Neill
contact the Mavor of Sevres and suggest confirming a time in September 2013. There vvas
some discussion on the length of time the visit should be. There Nvas discussion of 4 days to
a 7 day visit and a day on their own.
The planning committee Nvill meet and further discuss the events and the length of the visit.
VII. Reports
a. Film event- Gary Randant, Gary had emailed Alexandra at AMC Theatres. com and had a
response of full price Dec. 19 and 20 oniv for Les Miserables. It is not doable in that time
frame. We Nvill table the film project until 2013.
b. Farmers Market- the French Market Nvent very well. There is a full report attached. The
event made $600.00.
c. Book Crossing -Mary Ann Sibrava- Mary Ann provided a full report of the Book Crossing
event the Library hosted Nvith Sevres. 4 American books and 4 French books Nvere read.

d. French Trivia night- Patricia Fusilero- a date Nvas selected. The event Nvill be January 18,
2013 at Village Hall. Tricia will arrange the room and notify members if it is available. We
Nvill follow the same format as last year.
f Wine Tasting- Lorrie Huber, Paula Randant and Gary Randant- The event tools place
11/8/12 at World Market. It was very successful. A full report is attached. The event
made $810.00. The event Nvas successful and no cost to the commission so Nve Nvould like to
do another event in the spring May 23, 2013.
VIII. Discussion
Rachel shared the success of the quilters to Sevres
Barbara shared information on getting Sister Cities shirts. She Nvill bring samples to next
meeting.
Mary Ann Sibrava had a communication for the meeting though she did not attend. The
Library is planning a Community Fair April 16, 2013 for information on organizations.
Thev Nvould like us to participate. A vote Nvas taken and the commission agreed to
participate. Barbara Neill follow up.
Several other ideas Nvere exchanged to be discussed in the future.
Proposed Calendar for 2013 as of this date is: French Trivia Night 1/18/2013;
Library Community Fair 4/16/13; Pot Luck 4/25, 2013; Wine Tasting 5/23/13 and
11/7/13; French Market to be decided Nvith dates of French visit from Sevres. Proposed
calendar of events Nvas moved, seconded and passed. Other events can be proposed at a later
date.
Next meeting Neill be January 17, 2013 at 5:30PM in the Village Hall.
