Saturday, December 6, 1997
ATTENDING: Elmer Blasco, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Lil Floros, Linda Hoefert, Adriane Lewis,
Laury Youngquist
1. The meeting was called to order by Leo Floros. Minutes of the November 1, 1997 meeting were
approved.
2. Sounds of the Season. A large group of carolers is expected. Linda and Janice will be in charge of
sign -ins and hat distribution.
3. Celestial Celebration. 172 tickets have been sold to date. The menu was picked out using Mardi -
Gras -type names for the food. Lil has sent out letters to businesses and contributions are coming in very
well.
4. Shining Stars. The committee will meet Thursday, December 11 to make selections.
5. Veteran's Memorial. Elmer Blasco reported that contributions have fallen to nothing. The committee
has settled in on three targets: United, Randhurst and local businesses. A letter has been re- submitted to
United, but no reply has been received as yet.
6. Art Fair. Leo had a meeting with the Arts Council. It was suggested to them that Ken Fritz be hired
(with part of the money left after the council disbanded) to coordinate the fair and do the leg work.
Laury Youngquist reported that the majority of the council was against paying Ken, so the fair plans are
at a standstill.
7. Holiday Events Calendar. It was decided to put a questionnaire in the next village newsletter asking
citizens if the calendar was a good idea or not.
8. House Decorating. 29 entries were received. Linda Hoefert needs judges. Leo and Lil will take the
Religious and Holiday Fun categories. Prizes will be awarded at the Village Board meeting on December
16.
