AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE OFFICIAL COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN OF 1981 FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
determined a need exists to amend the official Comprehensive Plan of the
'e of Mount Prospect as adopted July 20, 1976; and
, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
authorized the official Comprehensive Plan of the Village of Mount Prospect
revised through consultants, members of the Comprehensive Plan Policy
Com. mittee, the Planning Commission of the Village of Mount Prospect
citizen input; and
, various studies including existing conditions for land use,
and economics, community facilities/and transportation have been
and are contained in the proposed amendment to the Comprehensive
of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
, the Plan Commission of the Village of Mount Prospect, as authorized
Chapter 24, Article 11-12-7 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, has
public hearings and made recommendations for the adoption of the
Plan of the Village of Mount Prospect of 1981; 8nd
, pursuant to Chapter 24, Article 11-12-7 of the Illinois Revised
, the Planning Commission of the Village of Mount Prospect did
a public hearing on February 25, 1981, pursuant to proper legal
being published in the Mount Prospect Herald On February 10, 1981; and
at the regular meeting of the Mount Prospect Planning Commission
March 4, 1981, the Planning Commission did recommend to the President
Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that the Comprehensive
of 1981, be amended to include the specified amendments hereinbelow
.tated and said Comprehensive Plan of 1981, as amended, be adopted by
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect; and
, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
in the Planning Commission's recommendation, having reviewed the
herein; and have determined that the same is in the best interests of
Village of Mount Prospect.
, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEE;
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
;ECTION ONE: The section entitled "Implementation Program - Zoning
as it appears in the Comprehensive Plan herein be amended to
the following wording:
"Creation of a new Zoning District for the dowtown area which
is consistent with the objectives of the 1976 Downtown Plan and
modified by the 1981 Comprehensive Plan."
,ECTION TWO: The Comprehensive Plan contained herein, be further amended
follows:
1. Elimination of Wa Pella Avenue and Busse Avenue from
Collector status on the thoroughfare plan.
. Elimination of the recommended installation of a traffic
signal at Wa Pella Avenue and Central Road from the
transportation section of the Comprehesnive Plan of 1981.
3. Addition of Prospect Avenue, from ]~usse Avenue to
Central Road as a Collector on the thoroughfare plan,
therefore showing the entire length of Prospect Avenue
from Mount Prospect Road to Central Road as a Collector
on the thoroughfare plan.
4. Page IV - 8, under the title "Annexation", delete
paragraph 2.
SECTION THREE: Pursuant to the authority vested in the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect under Article VII of
the 1970 Constitution of the State of Illinois, and Chapter 24 of the Illinois
Revised Statutes, Chapter 15 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, he and the same is hereby amended
in its entirety; so that said Chapter 15 shall he and read as follows to include
the amendments set forth in SECTION ONE and SECTION TWO hereinabove:

ECTION FOUR: The Village Clerk of the Village of ]%~ount Prospect be and
is hereby directed to file notice of the adoption of this Official Comprehensive
Plan for the Village of Mount Prospect, with the amendments contained herein,
with the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, as provided by the Statutes of the
State of Illinois.
SECTION FIVE: The Village Clerk of the Village of l~¢ount Prospect be and
is hereby directed to publish in pamphlet form said Official Comprehensive
Plan for the Village of Mount Prospect, with the amendments specified herein,
pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois, made and provided.
SECTION SIX: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its
passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form, in the manner provided
by law.
