HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 3115 05/19/1981 WH] on · ORDIN~LNCE NO. 3115 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT BUSINESS REHABILITATION AREA NUMBER ONE ~Hi REAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has passed Ordinance No. 30 0 establishing a Business Rehabilitation loan fund and standard: an. procedures in connection therewith, and which Ordinance require that the Plan Commission hold a public hearing and make recommen- dations with regard to any proposed Business Rehabilitation Area, ant[ that the corporate authorities review the recommendations of th PI~ commission and determine whether to designate an area as a Bu~ [neSs RehabilitatiOn Area; and WH] REAS, the Mount ProSpect Chamber of Commerce has submitted an ap] liCation for designation of a Business Rehabilitation Area; and REAS, a public hearing has been held before the Plan Commission APril 29, 19.81 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Prospect Village Hall h respect to said application; and REAS, the Plan Commission has determined that a significant her of the business structures located within the proposed Busin abilitation Area ·exhibit the factors set forth in Section Three f Ordinance #3060; namely, 1. At least twenty-seven structures were identified as .exhibiting deterioration and inadequate physical main- tenance; . 2. At least six structures were identified as.being in a state of dilapidation and in need of major repairs; 3. Many structures exhibit obsolescence and no l'onger ade- quately serve the purpose Which their location and f~'~ction requires. 4. At least sixteen structures exhibit excessive age as they are over fifty years old; and ?~ REAS, the Plan Commission has recommended on .the basis of these fi] dings that the area proposed in the Chamber of Commerce's apl lication be designated as a Business Rehabilitation Area; and WH]!REAs, the President and Board of Trustees of the' Village of Mo~ nt Prospect have reviewed the recommendations of the Plan CoI nission and have determined that the area proposed in the Chamb6 ofl~ommerce's application should be designated as a Business Rehabilitation Area; NO~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TR~.iTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SE( Ar~ Bu.~ an ( att !ION ONE: Designation of Area.
