HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 3212 05/04/1982 RDINANCE NO. 3212 .AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE BY PUBLIC AUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to retain ownership of the personal property herein- after described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to sell said personal property at a public auction %o be held on Saturday, May 22, 1982, at 10:00 A.M. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-76-4, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect find that the following described personal property: INVENTORY NO. YEAR MAKE MODEL 508705-10 1975 Uni-Com 1011P $5.00 Adding Machine 18692 1973 Singer 1152 $5.00 Adding Machine 12070469 Homelite EZ Automatic $5.00 Chain Saw 3048627 Homelite XL101 $5.00 Chain Saw 2678904 Homelite XL101 $5.00 Chain Saw (Variety of parts for the above $1.00 obsolete chain saws) MINIMUM VALUE now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect, and the best interests .of the Village of Mount Prospect will be served by its sale. SECTION TWO: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect at public auction on Saturday, May 22, 1982, at 10:00 A.M. at the Public Works Building, 11 South Pine Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said personal property. SECTION THREE: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Village Clerk to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. SECTION FOUR: No bid which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted. SECTION FIVE: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Director of Public Works to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. SECTION SIX: Upon payment of the full auction price, the Village Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the successful bidder. ECTION SEVEN: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, by a vote of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
