CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL II. ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES OF MAY 14, 1996 III. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD IV. COMMERCIAL VEHICLES PARKED AND STORED IN RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICTS/COMMERCIAL VEHICLE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS At the April 9, 1996 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Village Board again took up the question of regulating the parking and storing of commercial vehicles in Residential Zoning Districts. Board members reviewed a comprehensive staff report which outlined the status of current regulations; problems encountered in enforcing those regulations through the Courts; proposed revisions to existing regulations and a recap of prior ZBA and Board level discussions. At the April 9 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Village Board also heard commentary from residents both in support of and in opposition to regulation of commercial vehicles in Residential Zoning Districts. Approximately 40 residents were in attendance at this meeting. Based on the width and breath of the discussion at the April 9 Committee of the Whole meeting, Mayor Farley suggested that an Ad Hoc Commercial Vehicle Committee be convened to review the issue and submit recommendations to the full Board. The Committee was to be comprised of elected officials and residents representing various viewpoints for and against such regulations. Board members concurred with this approach. A Committee of six was named by Mayor Farley consisting of two Trustees and four residents. The Committee met on three occasions (see attached meeting Minutes) with the result being a specific set of recommendations for the regulation of commercial vehicles within Residential Districts. The Committee's report is attached for your review and consideration. Also attached are relevant supporting documents including Committee meeting Minutes as well as the March 20, 1996 staff report which served as the basis for the April 9 Committee of the Whole discussion. Committee members along with appropriate staff will be in attendance to answer questions and to facilitate discussion. Residents who had previously expressed interest in this subject have been notified of the May 28 discussion by mail.
