PRESENTATION: Mount Prospect Fire Department will present commendations to Police Officers Justin Beach and Brian Sampson for rescuing residents from a house fire recently. There will be no separate discussion of those items unless a Board member, or resident from the audience, so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered in its normal sequence on the agenda. OLD BUSINESS A. PZ-33-02, Text Amendments, Village of Mount Prospect 1. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 (ZONING) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE This ordinance amends the Zoning Code by eliminating the requirement that the legal description of a property be included in a public notice. The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval by a vote of 6-0. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 (ZONING) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE This ordinance amends the Zoning Code by creating regulations that require residential property owners to construct a garage when modifying an existing garage into living space. The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended denial of the request by a vote of 4-2, therefore a super-majority vote is required from the Village Board for approval. 2nd reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 (ZONING) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE This ordinance amends the Zoning Code by modifying storage shed regulations. The Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended approval by a 5-1 vote. (Exhibit A) (Exhibit B) (Exhibit C) Xl. NEW BUSINESS A. ~A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETVVEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND THE FOREST RIVER FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT This annual agreement, required by Court Order, authorizes the Village to provide emergency services to those portions of unincorporated Cook County located within the Forest River Fire Protection District. (Exhibit D) Safety Commission recommendation: 1. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 (TRAFFIC) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE This ordinance approves the installation of YIELD signs on Eastwood Avenue at Thayer Street. The Safety Commission has recommended approval by a vote of 7-0. *A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RELATIVE TO STREETLIGHT IMPROVEMENTS ON ALGONQUIN ROAD, BUSSE ROAD, AND DEMPSTER STREET This resolution authorizes the execution of an agreement for streetlight installation in the area of Busse Road, Algonquin Road, and Dempster Street. *A RESOLUTION APPROVING CONTINUED FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION IN THE NORTHWEST TRANSIT CORRIDOR PHASE II ALTERNATIVES ANALYSIS - LAND USE AND LOCAL FINANCIAL PLAN STUDY 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ANNEXATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT AND COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1920 EAST HIGGINS ROAD (DAYS INN, O'HARE) 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8 (VILLAGE GOVERNMENT MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS, ARTICLE XIX, NATURAL GAS USE TAX) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 2003 ACTION PLAN INCLUDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2003 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM This resolution sets forth funding allocation for the 2003 fiscal year. Creek cleaning/tree trimming/tree removal project *Request for Board approval of contract with Illinois Century Network for internet service *Request for Board acceptance of proposal from The Ciorba Group, Inc. for construction engineering services for streetlights in the area of Busse Road, Algonquin Road, and Dempster Street.
