AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14 ENTITLED
"ZONING" OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
ILLINOIS REGARDING THE ADDITION OF AN AUTOMOBILE
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE CENTER AS A SPECIAL USE
TO THE B-3 BUSINESS, RETAIL AND SERVICE DISTRICT
WHEREAS, Butler Walker Incorporated, of 1415 West 22nd
treet, Oak Brook, Illinois has filed an application seeking a
~xt amendment to Chapter 14 commonly known as the "Zoning
rdinance" of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois,
provide for the addition of an automobile maintenance and
srvice center as a special use in a B-3 Business, Retail
nd Service District, with respect to a certain portion of
he Mount Prospect Plaza property; and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held on said zoning amendment
equest (designated as Case No. ZBA-40-A-83) before the Zoning
9ard of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect on the 22nd
ay of September, 1983 pursuant to due and proper notice thereof
ublished in the Mount Prospect Herald on September 6, 1983; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its
kndings and recommendations to the President and Board of Trustee
the Village of Mount Prospect and has recommended that the
lendment request under ZBA-40-A-83 be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
~LINOIS:
SECTION ONE: Chapter 14

as amended, is hereby further

By adding to the special uses set forth in Subsection
C of Section 14.2001 of Article XX of said chapter
the following enumerated use:
"5. Automobile Maintenance and Service Center"
By adding to the definitions set forth in paragraph
14.2602 of Article XXVI of said chapter the following
definitions in alphabetical order, as follows:
"AUTOMOBILE GARAGE:
A business establishment which shall include major
repair of motor vehicles, including the rebuilding of
engines, or major reconditioning or reconstruction of
worn or damaged motor vehicles or parts thereof, body
frame or fender straightening or reconstruction, and pain
of vehicles or parts thereof."
"AUTOMOBILE MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE CENTER:
A business establishment which shall include inci-
dental or minor repair of motor vehicles, including the
~eplacement of worn or damaged parts and minor motor
or tune-up services, but not including the sale of
gasoline products or any operation included within the
definition of AUTOMOBILE GARAGE."
SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
