RESOLUTION NÖ.
44-85
A RSSOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE l50TH ANNIVERSARY OF
CITY OF DES PLAINES
. WHEREAS, since the early fall of 1835, the City of
Des Plaines has grown from a small hamlet along the
Des Plaines River to a thriving community of over 55,000
residents; and
WHEREAS, 1985 marks the lSOth Anniversary of this "City
of Destiny"; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is proud to be.
one of its bordering neighbors; and
WHEREAS, our communities have worked together in regional
associations and have engaged in intergovernmental
agreements thereby furthering common interests; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is pleased to join
with so many others on this auspicious occasion in
celebrating the Des Plaines' Sesquicentennial Anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The President and Board of Trustees of
Mount Prospect and its residents congratulate the Mayor,
City Council and all the residents of the City of
Des Plaines on its lSOth Anniversary.
SECTION TWO: The Village of Mount Prospect extends best
wishes to the people of the City of Des Plaines and
acknowledges their contributions in making the northwest
suburban area a desirable location for all.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval in
the manner provided by law. .
AYES: Arthur, Farley, Floros, Murauskis, Van Geem, Wattenberg

ABSENT: None
PASSED and APPROVED this 20th day of August, 1985.
