RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE NORTHWEST MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE
FOR AN OPTION ON A POTENTIAL SOLID WASTE SITE
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is a member of the
Northwest Municipal Conference and wishes to participate fully
in the programs of the Conference; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect recognizes that the
disposal of solid waste is a key issue for the Northwest
Municipal Conference; and
WHEREAS, the Conference is seeking a solution to the solid
waste disposal problems existing in the Conference and the
Village of Mount Prospect has participated in this search
since at least 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect intends to continue to
seek the solution to the solid waste problem.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Northwest Municipal Conference is hereby
appointed agent for the Village of Mount Prospect for the
purposes of purchasing an option to purchase real estate on
behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect in relationship to the
proposed Conference-wide solid waste disposal system.
SECTION TWO: That the Village of Mount Prospect will remit to
the Conference a sum not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
as its fair share of the purchase price of the option to purchase
real estate.
SECTION THREE: That the Conference may obtain the option to
purchase in its own name or may designate, in writing, a designee
to obtain the option to purchase in the designee's name, subject
to the consent of the members of the Conference.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village of Mount Prospect empowers the
Mayor in her role as delegate to the Conference to commit a sum
not to exceed Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) and to consent
to the purchase of an option to purchase real estate on behalf
of the Village of Mount Prospect.
SECTION FIVE: That the Mayor is instructed to report to the
Village Board upon her action and the action of the Conference.
SECTION SIX:
Conference.
That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
SECTION SEVEN: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
