Published in pamphlet form by the authority of the corporate authorities of the village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the 21st day of May , 1986 RDINANCE NO. 3652 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE XI ENTITLED "TAXICAB AND TAXICAB DRIVER'S LICENSES" OF CHAPTER 11 OF THE VILLAGE CODE WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have determined that the current rates of fare estab- lished in Section 11.1126 of the village Code should be revised. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOLLOWS: AS SECTION ONE: That Article XI entitled "Taxicab and Taxicab Driver's Licenses" of Chapter 11, as amended, be further amended follows: as ae By amending Section 11.1126 entitled "Rates of Fare; Rates Established, Rate Card Required" in its entirety so that Section 11.1126 shall hereafter be and read as follows: "Sec. 11.1126. Rates of Fare; Rates Established, Rate Card Required. No owner or driver of a taxicab shall charge a greater sum for the use of a taxicab than in accordance with the following rates: ae TWO dollars ($2.00) for the first mile or fraction thereof for one passenger. Be Twelve cents ($.12) for each additional one-tenth (1/10) mile or fraction thereof over and above the first mile for one passenger. C. Forty cents ($.40) for each one and one-half (1-1/2) minute waiting time or traffic delay. D. Ten cents ($.10) for each additional passenger above the age of twelve (12) years for the entire trip. Ee Twenty five cents ($.25) service charge is added to the above rates for parcel delivery and the handling of all items other than normal luggage. Fifty cents ($.50) service charge is added to the above rates for all trips which do not originate or terminate within the village. Ge Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary contained herein, an owner of a taxicab may establish flat rates for trips which originate within the Village with a destination point outside of the Village or trips which originate outside of the Village with a destination point within the Village. Any such flat rates estab- lished shall be filed with the Village Clerk. Every taxicab operated under this Article shall have a rate card setting forth the authorized rates of fare, displayed in such a place as to be in view of all passengers." SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided provided by law.
