Lisa Angell Phone: 847!818 -328 Fax: 8471818 -329 TDD: 847!392 -6064 iriria. moz �rrtprospect. org The meeting of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of the Village of Mount Prospect was held on Thursday, March 15 in the third floor Executive Conference Room in the Village Hall, 50 South Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois. CALL TO ORDER Chairman David Lindgren called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. Commissioners Jim Conroy, John Healy, Norm Kurtz, Tom Lowe, Dan Novak and Skip Robertson were present. Also present were Bill Cooney, Director of Community Development and Maura El Metennani, Public Information Officer. APPROVAL OF MINUTES The minutes of the February 16, 2012 meeting were reviewed and approved unanimously. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD There were no citizens present. OLD BUSINESS Development Update Mr. Cooney asked Mr. Conroy to provide a brief update on the Randhurst Village project. Mr. Conroy gave an update on leasing and construction activity and advised the project would be nearly complete by the end of 2012. Mr. Cooney provided an update and indicated that development activity was heating up throughout town. Rand Rd. /Central Rd. /Mount Prospect Rd. Intersection Update Mr. Cooney provided an overview of staff's efforts to date to address concerns with traffic flow on Rand Road. He stated that the Engineering Division had sent out an RFP in 2010 for an intersection study and that they did not pursue it after the cost came back at over $40,000. Staff will pursue alternative funding sources to review a larger segment of Rand Road from Business Center Drive to Central Road but this likely would not take place for several years due to available funding. Page 1 of 2 3/15/12 EDC minutes NEW BUSINESS Business Visitation Program The Commission further discussed how they wished to proceed with the Business Visitation Program throughout 2012. They determined that they wished to focus on shopping center owners, commercial and industrial brokers and large sales tax producers during 2012. The Commission agreed to focus their next meeting on how best to outreach to these groups.
