CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Adam Kicl called the May 02, 2012 Mount Prospect Youth Commission meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
in the first floor training room of the Policc and Fire Headquarters, Mount Prospect, Illinois.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Commissioner Nora Gawlik, seconded by Commissioner Michael Boivin, moved to approve the Minutes ol'the
April 04, 2012 Youth Commission meeting. The motion carried by unanimous approval.
Commissioner Nora Gawlik, seconded by Delanic Stcinwc-, moved to approve the Minutes of the April 22,
2012 Youth Commission Special meeting. The motion carried by unanimous approval.
Due to lack ol'a quorum, Special Youth Commission meetings scheduled for April 15, 2012 and April 29, 2012
were cancelled.
VISITORS TO BE HEARD
Jeffrey Nc ' idl, prospective new member from Prospect High School and Noah Kiel, brother of Chairman Adam
Kiel, prospective new member from Holmes Junior High School and Karen Kicstcr from River Trails Park
District were in attendance.
TREASURER'S REPORT
Treasurer Jaclyn Stasscn advised Youth Commission balance is 51,414.83.

Youth Commission Ordinance Proposed Changes
Chairman Adam Kiel submitted the approved proposed Youth Commission Ordinance changes to Village Clerk
Lisa An-cll for review by the Village Board.
Administrative Committee to prepare the semi - annual report to the Village Board in June.

Advisor George Clowcs reported surveys arc being edited and analyzed
New 2012 Youth Commission Survey
Commissioner Michael Boivin working on 2012 survey and requested members to send question suggestions to
him for new survey. Members discussed changing the format to multiple choice questions.
Area Youth Commission Meetings
Chairman Adam Kiel, Michael Boivin and any interested members to visit the Arlington Heights and Des
Plaines Youth Commissions in May.

Display Board Placement
Display board is currently inactive. Commissioners Jaclyn Stasscn and Dclanic Stcinwc- to contact arch park
district facilities and for placement of display board in the summer.
Updating of Youth Commission Village Website
Youth Commission Village wcbsitc has been updated.
YOUTH RESOURCES COMMITTEE

Youth Resource Catalog
Copics of the Youth Resource catalog were printed and distributed to incinbcrs for placement in the community.
Spanish Version Youth Resource Catalog
The Spanish translation of the Youth Resource catalog should be completed by the Junc meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Meetings of Village Boards and Commissions
No additional Village Board or Commission meetings were attended by commissioners.
Commission incinbcrs encouraged to attend upcoming Village Board meetings.
NEW BUSINESS
Spring Bicvcle Safety Program
Chairman Adam Kicl continued discussions on the Spring Bicycic Safety Program on June 16, 2012.
Subcommittee to meet weekends to continue working on the program and the next scheduled subcommittee
meeting was sct for Sunday, May 06, 2012 at the Mount Prospect Public Library. Commission incinbcrs
assigned various tasks to complete prior to the subcommittee meeting.
Karcn Kicstcr from River Trails Park District was in attendance to offer suggestions for the program
Members discussed the reality of completing all the details for the Bicycic Safety Program on time and decided
to take a vote; 6 incinbcrs voted to continue, I member voted to cancel, and I member was absent.

OTHER BUSINESS
Youth Preparedness Pro2ram
Commission members decided to place "Youth Preparedness Program" on hold for next year.

Youth Commission members interested iu attending the Mount Prospect Public Works Open House nuSaturday,
May 19, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. should contact Chairman Adarn Kiel.
