III. OPEN ACTS TRAINING
Open Meetings Act (OMA), 51LCS 120/05, P.A. 97 -0504 took effect January 1, 2012.
Under this new law, all elected and appointed members of a public body subject to
OMA must:
• Complete the electronic training curriculum developed and administered by the
Public Access Counselor in the Attorney General's Office; and
• File a copy of the certificate of completion with the public body.
The Mayor and Village Board, with the guidance of the Village Clerk, will participate in the
required training in the Village's computer training room.
