HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 26-02 05/07/2002 ESOLUTION NO. 26-02 A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO DR. MAUREEN HAGER FOR SERVICE TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, in 1996, the Village of Mount Prospect was fortunate to receive DR. MAUREEN HAGER as superintendent of Mount Prospect School District 57, which serves approximately 1,900 students within Mount Prospect and a portion of Arlington Heights; and WHEREAS, DR. MAUREEN HAGER has dedicated some 27 years to educating and guiding students in neighboring Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect, serving as a classroom English teacher, reading specialist, middle school principal, elementary school principal, assistant superintendent for curriculum instruction, and superintendent; and WHEREAS, DR. MAUREEN HAGER has been a tremendous asset to the community by donating her skills and countless hours to the Rotary Club of Mount Prospect, the North Cook Intermediate Service Board, and the First in the World Consortium for Math and Science, among others; and WHEREAS, DR. MA UREEN HA GER has contributed greatly to District 57 by spearheading the Mount Prospect CHARACTER COUNTS! program and encouraging the entire community to embrace the Six Pillars of Character, by working tirelessly to upgrade District 57's technology plan by overseeing efforts to provide internet access to every District 57 classroom, and by improving the educational program which resulted in the prestigious distinction of having 87 percent of District 57 students meet or exceed state standards in 2001, as measured by the Illinois Student Achievement Tests. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby acknowledge and recognize DR. MA UREEN HA GER for her years of service to the the Village and hereby express our best wishes for a successful future as she continues her career as Superintendent of North Shore School District 112 in Highland Park, Illinois. SECTION TWO: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and presented to DR. MAUREEN HAGER as a perpetual memento. SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
