HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 19-02 04/02/2002vw[ 3~28~02 RESOLUTION NO. 19-02 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE PRIMARY ELECTION OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT HELD MARCH 19, 2002 WHEREAS, the Primary Election was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, March 19, 2002; and WHEREAS, the following referendum question was presented to the electors of the Village of Mount Prospect: "Shall the Village of Mount Prospect, on behalf of the Mount Prospect Library Board of Trustees, issue general obligation bonds to renovate and expand the Mount Prospect Public Library, in an amount not to exceed $20,500,000, bearing interest at a rate not to exceed 6% per annum?" and WHEREAS, the local Canvassing Board has conducted the official canvass and presented the results; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby declare the results of the March 19, 2002 election for said Village. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That pursuant to the Primary Election Laws of the State of Illinois, a regular election was held for the Village of Mount Prospect, Tuesday, March 19, 2002. SECTION TWO: That an official canvass was conducted on March 25, 2002 by the Local Canvassing Board for the Village of Mount Prospect declaring that 9,651 ballots were counted for the referendum question, attached hereto as "Exhibit A." SECTION THREE: Inasmuch as the referendum question pertaining to the Mount Prospect Public Library expansion and renovation received a greater number of affirmative votes, it is declared that this referendum question is passed. eferendum results Page 2/2 SECTION FOUR: The Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Cook County Election Department and the State Board of Election Commissioners, as provided by law. SECTION FIVE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
