BURG HARD came to the Village of Mount Prospect as Village Manager on November 1, 1978; and WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, TERRANCE L. BURGHARD has caused the Village of Mount Prospect to prosper and grow through prudent management and visionary leadership; and WHEREAS, TERRANCE L. BURGHARD has been instrumental in achieving the successful completion of the largest public works project the ViHage of Mount Prospect has ever undertaken, namely the establishment of a permanent supply of Lake Michigan water; and WHEREAS, under TERRANCE L. BURGHARD's leadership, several note- worthy projects have come to fruition including the Kensington Center for Business and the redevelopment of the Village's Central Business District; and WHEREAS, during the "Flood of '86," TERRANCE L. BURG HARD again demonstrated his leadership abilities by mobilizing Village personnel and establishing a flood relief pian that saved millions of dollars in property from damage and minimized the anguish of those affected by this tragedy; and WHEREAS, TERRANCE L. BURGHARD has built a truly professional staff which has achieved national recognition in the areas of fire safety, crime prevention, urban forestry, tenantsl rights and financial reporting; and WHEREAS, during the past eight years as Village Manager of Mount Prospect and his sixteen years in professional city management, TERRANCE L. BURGHARD has been a credit to his profession and an asset to the Village of Mount Prospect. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILUNOIS~ SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby acknowledge the many contributions of TERRANCE L. BURGHARD as Village Manager from November 1, t 978 to November 14, 1986. SECTION TWO: That on behalf of this community, the Mayor and Board of Trustees express their appreciation for the many outstanding accomplish- ments and the progressive management under the tenure of TERRANCE L. BURGHARD. SECTION THREE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees as weB as the residents, business community and Village staff do wish TERRANCE L.BURGHARD and his family the best upon this newest venture in an already successful career.
