RESOLUTION NO.
38-86
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE REFERENDUM
QUESTION OF THE VILLAGE" OF THE GENERAL ELECTION OF
NOVEMBER 4, 1986
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect did authorize a question of public policy, as set forth
hereinbelow, to be placed on the ballot of the General Election
of November 4, 1986¡ and
WHEREAS, the local canvassing board has conducted the official
canvass and presented the results¡ and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees did
authorize the following proposition to be placed on the ballot
for the General Election on November 4, 1986:
Shall the General Assembly of the State of Illinois be
advised to create a Regional Airport Authority to promote
the economic development, to develop additional airport
facilities in Northern Illinois, and to work toward
relieving the extreme noise, pollution, air traffic
congestion, and increased risk to public safety caused by
the ever increasing number of flights at OiHare
International Airport?
SECTION TWO: That 14,122 ballots were cast with the YES receiving
8,932 votes and the NO receiving 2,240 votes.
SECTION THREE: That the Local Canvassing Board has canvassed the
results of the election and do hereby declare the results set forth
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward,
in the appropriate manner, the results of this proposition to the
County Clerk and appropriate officials.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided
by lawe

NAYS: None
ABSENT: Wattenberg
