A RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY
OF INCORPORATION OF THE VILLAGE OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS
WHEREAS, since the winter of 1887 the Village of Arlington
Heights has grown from a small farm community to a thriving
community of over 66,000 residents; and
WHEREAS, 1987 marks the 100th Anniversary of this ~City of Good
Neighbors", and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is proud to be one of its
bordering neighbors, and
WHEREAS, our communities have worked together in regional
associations and have engaged in intergovernmental agreements
thereby furthering common interests; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is pleased to join with so
many others in this auspicious occasion in celebrating the
Arlington Heights' Centennial Anniversary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect and its residents congratulate the
Village President, Board of Trustees, and all the residents of
the Village of Arlington Heights on its 100th Anniversary of
Incorporation.
SECTION TWO: That the Village of Mount Prospect extends best
wishes to the people of the Village of Arlington Heights and
acknowledges their contributions in making the Northwest Suburban
Area a desirable location for all.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
AYES: Arthur, Farley, Floras, Murauskis, Van Geem
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Wattenberg
