RESOLUTION NO.
8-87
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 1987
COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is entering its tenth
year as an entitlement community under the federal Community
Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, in the past nine years the Village has used its
Community Development Block Grant entitlement to implement
various projects to address the community development and housing
needs of its low and moderate income and elderly residents, to
reduce and prevent the occurrence of deterioration in the Central
Area of the Village, to increase accessibility for the
handicapped, and to address other community needs in conformance
with the objectives of the Community Development Block Grant
Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been allocated
$223,000.00 for Fiscal Year 1987, an additional $36,000.00 in
deferred funding, $3,980.00 in Fiscal Year 1987 reallocated
funds, all new allocations from the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees has determined that
these funds can continue to be of benefit in providing for
resident's health, safety and welfare and in meeting the
community development and housing needs of its citizens:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect hereby approves the allocation of Community
Development Block Grant funds to projects in the following
amounts for a total new allocation of $226,980,00 and $11,855.20
in program income funds:
Train Station Accessibility
Senior Citizen's Center Walk
Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program
(Including $11,855.20 Program Income)
Downtown Streetscape Improvements
Commercial Building Facade Improvements
Low-Moderate Income Day Care Services
General Administration

SECTION TWO: In the event that an additional $36,000.00 in
deferred funding is allocated to the Village of Mount Prospect,
the Mayor and Boaard of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
hereby approve the additional allocation of Community Development
Block Grant to projects in the following amounts for a total new
allocation of $262,980.00 and $11,855.20 in new program income
funds.

General Administration

SECTION THREE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect hereby authorizes the Village Manager
to prepare and forward to the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development a submission of Mount Prospect's uFinal
Statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected Use
of Funds" in accordance with federal guidelines.
SECTION FOUR: This Resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
