MAYORS REPORT 9/21/04 PROCLAMA TION CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEEK SEPTEMBER 19-25,2004 WHEREAS, the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce represents both small and large businesses in the community; and WHEREAS, the Mount Prospect Chamber promotes the economic interests of both business to business, and business to consumer, establishments; and WHEREAS, in addition to promoting the business, civic, and economic interests of our area, the Mount Prospect Chamber provides input to leaders of all levels of government on various issues of critical concern to businesses and residents; and WHEREAS, today's Chamber of Commerce is also vigorously leading Mount Prospect in advancing economic prosperity, establishing a clear community vision and solving tough problems; and WHEREAS, Chamber volunteers give unselfishly of their time, energy and expertise in advancing the purposes of the Chamber of Commerce in meeting the goals of their annual programs, such as the September 25th International Festival, celebrating Mount Prospect's diversity. NOw, THEREFORE, l, Gerald L. Farley, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do hereby proclaim September 19 through 25,2004 as "MOUNT PROSPECT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEEK" and express sincere appreciation on behalf of the Mount Prospect Village Board and Staff for the steadfast efforts of all those involved in our local Chamber of Commerce. PROCLAMA TION A PROCLAMATION CALLING FOR A "SEASON OF CITIZEN PARTICIPATION" WHEREAS, the success of any democracy is measured by the free, active and unencumbered participation and involvement of its citizens; and WHEREAS, the success of our free and representative governmental process requires responsible judgment and participation in the electoral process; and WHEREAS, over the next three months, all citizens and residents are encouraged to engage infree and open debate on candidates and issues and all eligible voters are encouraged to vote November 2, 2004 for candidates and issues of their choosing. NOw, THEREFORE, I, Gerald L. Farley, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect, do hereby proclaim that September, October, and November, 2004 are recognized as the "SEASON OF PARTICIPATION" in the Village of Mount Prospect with all citizens being encouraged to participate fully in the fall election activities and programs, including voter registration, electionforums, absentee voting when applicable, election discussions with family and friends, volunteering for election campaigns, and first and foremost voting on November 2, 2004 for the candidates of your choice.
