"NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK"
FEBR UAR Y 17-23, 2002
WHEREAS, since 1951, engineers have used their scientific and technical knowledge
and skills in creative and innovative ways to fulfill society's needs; and
WHEREAS, engineers face the major technological challenges of our time--from
rebuilding towns devastated by natural and human-created disasters to designing an
information superhighway that has taken our country into the twenty-first century; and
WHEREAS, engineers are encouraging our young math and science students to
realize the practical power of their knowledge; and
WHEREAS, we increasingly look to engineers, and their knowledge and skill, to meet
the challenges of the future.
NOW, THEREFORE, L Gerald L. Farley, Mayor of the Village of Mount Prospect,
do hereby proclaim February 17-23, 2002 as
"NATIONAL ENGINEERS WEEK"
and I further extend appreciation to our Village engineers for the vital services they
perform and their contributions to this community.
