ORDINANCE IMPOSING A ONE PERCENT (1%) MUNICIPAL USE TAX
IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO. 3724
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF TEE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois hereby impose a tax, pursuant
to Section 8-11-6 of the Illinois Municipal Code, upon the
privilege of using, in said Village, any item of tangible per-
sonal property which is purchased outside Illinois at retail from
a retailer, and which is titled or registered with an agency of
the government of the State of Illinois, at a rate equal to 1% of
the selling price of such tangible personal property, as "selling
price" is defined in the "Use Tax Act", constituting Section
439.1 et seq. of the Chapter
Statutes. Such tax shall be

President and Board of Trustees on December 2, 1986, is hereby
repealed. All other ordinances, or parts thereof, heretofore
enacted in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall
be and the same are hereby repealed to the extent of such
conflict.
Section 3. Publication and Notice. The Village Clerk
is hereby authorized and directed to publish this ordinance in
pamphlet form and to make copies thereof available for public in-
spection at her office. The Village Clerk is further authorized
and directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the
Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs and with
the Illinois Department of Revenue within ten days of adoption
hereof. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
cause notice of adoption of this ordinance to be published in
"The Mount Prospect Herald" a newspaper of general circulation in

Notice is hereby given that on January 20, 1987 the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect, Illinois adopted an ordinance entitled: "Ordinance
Imposing a One Percent (1%) Municipal Use Tax in the Village
of Mount Prospect, Illinois And Repealing Ordinance No. 3724"
and that copies of said ordinance are on file and available
for public inspection at the office of the Village Clerk of
the Village of Mount Prospect.
