Minutes of June 4, 2011
Roll Call Dawn Fletcher Collins,Sandy DiCaro, Jill Friedrichs, Eileen Gattas, Christina Greco,
Linda Hoefert, Mike Janonis, Fred Steinmiller, Jim Uszler, Teresa VanOpdorp and
Tarina Wimmer
Call to Order 9:02 a.m.
Treasurer's Report Mike Janonis shared the Treasurer's Report with members in attendance.
The report was reviewed and accepted as presented.
4 th of July Parade Jill Friedrichs reported that there are between 30 and 40 units currently
registered for the event. To date approximately $15,000. of the $18,000. budget has been
spent on music and bands. A lengthy discussion was held regarding other organizations that
may enter requiring stipends and how to handle their requests.
Do It Yourself Sousa A report was given in Martha Helm's absence. Dawn Fletcher Collins will
be giving Martha a key to the Post Office Box and it was decided that Jill and Martha will pick up
their own mail and leave the others event requests. Help is needed, those that volunteered
are: Eileen Gattas, Sandy Dicaro, evening assistance and Tarina Wimmer who can help during
the day.
Susan G. Koman 3 Day Walk for the Cure Adopt -A -Block Tarina shared a flyer she has created
to promote the event. She is looking for volunteers to distribute the flyer to businesses and to
those homes on the route. Maura El Metennani will forward the flyer to members of the press,
add it to the village website and newsletter. It was also suggested putting the information on
the village sign.
Bike Ride The committee is currently working on a spot for MPTV. With limited assistance from
the police department they are anticipating the need for many volunteers. Teresa asked for
information on members of the Citizens Police and Fire Academies Alumni. There will be a
committee meeting to follow.
Next Meeting Scheduled for July 2, 2011.
