IV.ANNEXATION STUDY
A strategy in the 2007Comprehensive Plan is to evaluate the unincorporated areas and
understand the costs and benefits of annexation. Staff has performed an annexation study,
which aims to understand the impact on Mount Prospect municipal services related to
annexation opportunities surrounding the Village. Staff has identified four unincorporated
areas for possible annexation: 1) Forest River(North), 2) United Airlines Campus(UAL) and
surrounding areas, 3) OaktonStreet Corridor(South), and 4) Lynn Court(Lake Briarwood).
Appropriate staff will be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussion.
V.NORTHWEST HIGHWAY CORRIDOR STUDY
One of the strategies listed in the Comprehensive Plan’s Implementation Program is to
create a strategic plan for Northwest Highway and Prospect Avenue to promote the area as a
commercial corridor for development and redevelopment.The draft Northwest Highway
Corridor Study isa guide for future development and identifies issues and opportunities
within the corridor.
Appropriate staff will be on hand to answer questions and facilitate discussion.
