Draft Minutes 01/04/2011MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT January 4, 2011 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Wilks called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Mayor Irvana Wilks Trustee Paul Hoefert Trustee Arlene Juracek Trustee John Korn Trustee John Matuszak Trustee Steve Polit Trustee Michael Zadel PLEDGE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Trustee Zadel led the Pledge of Allegiance. INVOCATION INVOCATION Trustee Korn gave the Invocation. MINUTES APPROVAL OF MINUTES Trustee Hoefert, seconded by Trustee Polit, moved to approve the minutes of the regular Village Board meeting held December 21, 2010. Upon roll call: Ayes: Hoefert, Korn, Matuszak, Polit, Zadel Nays: None Abstain: Juracek Motion carried. APPROVE BILLS APPROVE BILLS Mayor Wilks stated the next item on the agenda, "APPROVE BILLS" was noted by an asterisk, and unless there was a request to remove an item(s), all items further listed in that manner would be considered with one (1) vote, as business item "IX. CONSENT AGENDA." MAYOR'S REPORT MAYOR'S REPORT Presentation: Administer Oath of Office to David Zboril. Police Chief John Dahlberg provided the introduction of Police Officer David Zboril who after establishing a distinguished service career with the Mount Prospect Police Department would be sworn in as a Police Commander. Village Clerk Lisa Angell administered the Oath of Office to Police Commander David Zboril. Mayor Wilks and the Village Board extended their congratulations to Police Commander Zboril, APPOINTMENTS None. CITIZENS TO BE COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS — CITIZENS TO BE HEARD HEARD None. CONSENT AGENDA CONSENT AGENDA Trustee Zadel, seconded by Trustee Korn, moved to approve the following business item: 1. Bills dated December 16 to December 29, 2010. APPROVE BILLS Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Page 1 of 2 Mayor and Board of Trustees January 4, 2011 of the Village of Mount Prospect OLD BUSINESS OLD BUSINESS Mayor Wilks presented a resolution authorizing a second amendment and extension of CONTRACT FOR the contract for sale of water by the Village of Mount Prospect to the City of Prospect SALE OF WATER Heights. This resolution authorizes an extension of the contract for the sale of water, as TO THE CITY OF amended, from August 16, 2004 to August 15, 2024. PROSPECT HEIGHTS Mayor Wilks noted the Village Board had approved deferral of this item from the December 21, 2010 Village meeting until tonight's meeting. Trustee Zadel, seconded by Trustee Polit, moved for approval of Resolution No. 01 -11: RES 01 -11 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SECOND AMENDMENT AND EXTENSION OF OF THE CONTRACT FOR SALE OF WATER BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT TO THE CITY OF PROSPECT HEIGHTS Upon roll call: Ayes: Hoefert, Korn, Juracek, Matuszak, Polit, Zadel Nays: None Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS None. MANAGER'S VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT REPORT Assistant Village Manager Dave Strahl announced the following business item: ■ Coffee with Council — Village Hall Community Center Saturday, January 8 9:00 a. m. — 11:00 a. m. OTHER BUSINESS OTHER BUSINESS Trustee Korn provided a community reminder of the Village Code requiring all outdoor holiday decorations be removed within 60 days after the holiday. ADJOURN ADJOURN There being no further business to discuss Mayor Wilks asked for a motion to adjourn. Trustee Polit, seconded by Trustee Juracek, moved to adjourn the meeting. Upon roll call: Ayes: Hoefert, Korn, Juracek, Matuszak, Polit, Zadel Nays: None Motion carried. The January 4, 2011 Village Board meeting adjourned at 7:19 p.m. M.
