ORDINANCE NO. 3840 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT 1 2 3 4 5 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14. WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, it is no longer necessary, useful, or in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that the best interests of the Village would be served by the sale of the subject personal property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: In accordance with the provisions of Section 11-76-4 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect find that the items of personal property being the subject of this Ordinance owned by the Village of Mount Prospect are no longer useful or necessary to said Village, and said property is therefore surplus property and the best interests of the Village will be served by its sale. SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be and is hereby directed to cause a public notice advertising for bids for such personal property to be published in the Mount Prospect Herald, which notice shall be in substantially the following form: " NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Village of Mount Prospect will accept bids at the Office of the Village Manager, 100 South Emerson Street, Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 until 10:00 A.M. on September 30, 1987, for the following: ~1985 Chevrolet Impala Blk/White 4 dr. The Village of Mount Prospect offers no warranty, express or implied, on the condition or serviceability of these vehicles. The bidder assumes full responsibility for the vehicle upon taking possession of it. Bids will be accepted on one or more of the vehicles individually or on the total group as a whole. Bids must be presented on the form provided by the Village of Mount Prospect. Bids must made in accordance with the "Instructions to Bidders" supplement on file with the Office of the Mount Prospect Village Clerk. Inspection information, Bidders Instructions, and Proposal forms may be obtained from the Office of the Mount Prospect Chief ~f Police. The Village reserves the right to reject any and all bids as well as to waive any technical errors in individual bids. Carol A. Fields Village Clerk " SECTION THREE: Bids received in response to said Notice shall be opened in the Office of the Village Manager, 100 S. Emerson, Mount Prospect, Illinois, at the hour of 10:00 A.M. on September 30, 1987. SECTION FOUR: Within ten (10) days after the receipt of bid(s) is accepted, the successful bidder(s) shall tender to the Village the consideration specified in the bid accepted and upon receipt of such consideration, the Village Manager is hereby authorized to transfer title of said equipment to the successful bidder(s). SECTION FOUR: Any item(s) remaining unsold after the above date may be disposed of by the Village Manager or his designated agent in a manner which is in the best interest of the Village. SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
