ORDINANCE NO. --~; AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ARTICLE XIII ENTITLED "STOPPING, STANDING AND PARKING" OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ..... BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COLIVi~, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That Section 18.1322.C of Article XIII entitled "Stopping, Standing and Parking" of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois, as amended, is hereby further amended by increasing the amount to be deposited into the meter collection box; so that hereinafter said paragraph C of Section 18.1322 shall be and read as follows: " C. Meter Collection Box System w The deposit of sufficient United States coins or currency amounting to One Dollar ($1.00) in a numbered slot in a master collection box shall establish a parking time of one day for the correspondingly' numbered parking space. " SECTION TWO: That Section 18.1322.H.2 of Article XIII of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended; so that hereinafter said Section 18.1322.H.2 shall be and read as follows: " 2. No person shall park a vehicle in any parking space at the head of which is a posted number during the restricted and regulated time applicable to the metered parking zone in which such parking space is located unless United States coin or currency amounting to One Dollar ($1.00) shall have been deposited in the corresponding slot on the master collection box during the then current calendar day. " SECTION THREE: That Section 18.1322.H.4 of Article XIII of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended; so that hereinafter said Section 18.1322.H.4 shall be and read as follows: " 4. No person shall permit a vehicle within his control to be parked in any parking space at the head of which is located a posted number during the restricted and regulated time applicable to the metered parking zone in which such parking space is located unless One Dollar ($1.00) has been deposited in the corres- ponding numbered slot on the master collection box. This provision shall not apply to the act of parking or the time which is required to deposit i~edlately thereafter one dollar ($1.00) in such numbered lot." SECTION FOUR: That Article XIII of Chapter 18 (Traffic Cede) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as~amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto an entirely new Section 18.1328 entitled "Leased Parking Zones"; so herelnafter said Section 18.1327 shall be and read as follows: " Section 18.1328. Leased Parking Zones. There are hereby established certain parking zones to be known as "Leased Parking Zones," which zones shall be within the districts described in Schedule XIX of the Appendix to this Chapter. Be It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle in the Wille Street parking lot unless a current Mount Prospect vehicle sticker is displayed in the front windshield of the vehicle so parked therein; so that parking in the said Wllle Street lot shall be limited to Mount Prospect residents only. e It shall be unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle in the Wllle Street parking lot unless said person has executed an annual lease agreement with the Village of Mount Prospect. Such lease agreement shall set forth the terms and conditions to be observed by the lessee. A separate lease agreement shall be required for each parking space. D. Rental Amount Any proprietor or owner of a business licensed to do business in the Village of Mount Prospect shall pay an annual rental fee of Ninety Dollars ($90.00) for each parking space in the Wille Street Parking lot. Any resident of the Village who is not a proprietor or owner of a business licensed to do business in the Village of Mount Prospect shall pay an annual rental fee of Two Hundred Forty Dollars ($240.00) for each parking space in the Wllle Street parking lot. 3. The annual rental amount shall be paid simultaneously with the acceptance and delivery of the lease. All monies so collected for parking lot rents shall be deposited with the Village Treasurer, who shall credit such collections to the parking system revenue fund and shall submit a monthly report to the Village Board showing all revenues derived from parking lot rents." SECTION FIVE: That Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto an entirely new Article XIX entitled "Leased Parking Zones"; so that hereinafter said Section 18.2019 shall be and read as follows: Section 18.2019. Schedule XIX Leased Parking Zones. In accordance wlth Section 18.1327A, no person, without having complied with the requirements of Section 18.1327, shall park a vehicle within the districts described below: SCHEDULE XIX District Wllle Street Let Description Village Parking Let on Wille Street North of Evergreen Street " SECTION SIX: The fees and regulations established herein shall become effective as of May 1, 1988. SECTION SEVEN: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval, and publication in pamphlet form in accordance with law.
